Are the shad catch and release? I understand that they are "boney" but good to eat. What walleye lake is near you? Lake Erie is a good walleye lake, but you gotta go pretty deep. Only "average" in land walleye otherwise.

morning all: we catch and release shad. the old saying about shad is; you bake them on a hickory board, and when they're done you throw away the shad and eat the board. some people like them, but most don't. some people only eat the roe from them. I'm not too fond of that either. and they are EXTREMELY bony.
beltsville dam is the lake we fish. had a pretty good population of walleyes at one time, but not any more. it isn't even in the same league as Erie, not even close.
the Delaware and Susquehanna rivers have a reasonable amount of walleye in them, but much further to travel and tough to navigate. they are pretty shallow rivers, with lots of big rocks that can tear up your equipment.

    Good morning Jim.

I will be finishing up painting the neighbors shed today. I am blessed with wonderful neighbors, both in their mid 80's, that take in our cat when we go on vacation.

I patched some holes in their shed late last fall with left over building materials and I am painting it this spring with left over paint. It feels good to be able to do something nice for great neighbors.

morning all: just got done paying the phone bill, making a cigar run, sharpening the lawn mower blades, and cleaning up a bunch of litter that was in the yard.
sent a "NICE" short note to the litterer, with some of the litter enclosed that had her name on it. bet I don't find her junk in the yard again. ;)

oh! forgot this. when fishing for shad, there was some type of junk getting on the lines. not the normal green slime that we're familiar with.
looks like it may be "DIDYMO", a new invasive species, and some type of alge.
    OH GREAT!!

Here in Lake Erie, we have had the "Zebra Mussel", the "Round Goby" and the "Spiney Shrimp" as recent invaders. The Lamprey Eel has been around since the 1950's. At first they create problems until their numbers even out.

Yard and pond work for me as well today.

Dell canceled the repair ticket for today until tomorrow. the technician did not have all the parts. LOL

I have the computer up and running but I still need them to check it out. ;)
