    This really reminds me of the 95 Mariners. They were nearly a done deal to Tampa Bay. In August the team was 15+ games behind the angels sitting in second place and they caught fire. They passed the angels and won the first round in the playoffs. That team had Griffey Jr, Alex Rodriguez, Randy Johnson, Jay Buhner and Edgar Martinez.

    The success and fan support forced the mayor of Seattle to call a special session and literally at midnight they forced the deal through for Safeco field.

    It sounds like what is happening in Phoenix.
