Installed a set of PrecisionFit leather seat covers.

Quality? I'll give it an "A". They seem heavy enough and the stitching is solid. I didn't feel any hint of "give" during installation.
I got the Custom 2-tone, gray and black. The black side and center panels are nice, smooth, jacket quality leather. The gray center panels have ALMOST a suede texture to them, but there is no nap that I can detect... it's just a very soft glove leather.

    Fit? That's a "C"
The center headrest looks like shit no matter which way it's mounted. It has a stitch that runs across the top, factory headrest the stitch is on the bottom. Original cloth is way over exposed in the rear, and the leather has "wings"... it's like the cover was made for a different center headrest.

Thankfully, I never put people there... I just left it in the garage.

Main headrests are okay. Again, a fair amount of fabric is exposed around the posts, but this does not show when they are fully inserted which is how I run them.

Seatback was a pain. Would have been easier out of the truck and on a bench. It's a tight fit, which is nice, but I played hell getting the flap through and the velcro attached on the bottom.
Then once it was on, while the side seams matched up with the seat sides, the light backrest panels did not line up with the original seats. Almost like I had the back shifted 1" to the left on the passenger side and 1/2" to the left on the driver side.
Installing the bench portion confirmed this.

The bench was pretty painless. It sits over the bench, and 6 straps run from back to front, and 2 straps run from the outside to the center notch. Those threaded and pulled snug easily. There are two additional velcro straps on the sides back by the hinge.
A piece of plastic with 2 Velcro "dots" was supplied. I assume that is to join these two straps over the hump. Not going to happen. Any tension pulls the straps free, and the two straps plus the plastic seems to be too short. I just pulled it snug and stuck the Velcro straps to the carpet.

Perhaps next weekend after the covers have some time on them, I'll pop the seatback open and try to shift the back over a bit. I still need to install the seat heaters anyways, so that'll be a good time for that.

Installed my Brute Force Rear plate bumper and Weathertech visors I found on craigslist. This bumper is beefy, looks great, and awesome craftsmanship. My next buy is new wheels. I had a little too much fun on my last OR tip. I damaged the 2 front wheels. I am thinking about going with a set of V-TEC Off Road. $475 delivered to my fornt door. Now I am just saving up more money for my next mod... So Far an eventfull weekend for my taco.

I removed my Diff Drop, cut the OEM clamps on my CV boots, pulled them forward and to where they fins are not touching, and clamped them down in place...thanks jandrews for your recommendation!:woot:

On my tundra, which was 4x4, i removed the factory clamps and replaced with hose clamps before lifting...it prevented the boots from slipping off and throwing grease everywhere..

When you lift the front of the truck, the fins on your cv boots will touch. a lot of people buy a toytec diff drop kit to prevent this from happening. the problem is, when the fins touch, after driving the fins run as the cv spins. after a while they wear out and spit the cb grease all over then the cv's go bad. to prevent this, you can just cut the OEM clamp, slide the cv boots out (to where the fins are no longer touching) and reclamp them with a hose clamp.

is this what you're talking about?

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/190669-my-cv-boot-mod.html

using a ring clamp to "stretch" the cv boot so the fins won't rub causing wear and tear.

Sweet. Thanks for that info. I have the diff drop with my kit, but I'll pay attention to that. Thanks a lot for posting those pictures.

I think I might have gone with 18's if I hadn't just bought the tires that were on my stock rims. I think the 265's look great with the 16x8's. Perfect width for the tires...

That's what I like to hear...I hope they hold up well over time.

How hard is it to slide the CV boot after you cut the stocker clamp off?
