    Yeah those are the TC spindle gussets. :)

    Honestly, me and my trusted fab guy(Anthony aka "DTFtacoma" on here) decided it that it was one of those 'might as well' mods.

    We were already in there changing most of the components of the front suspension, it would be foolish not to do them all in one shot. If you've got the resources(a trusted fab guy) it's a no brainer. The gussets themselves are pretty inexpensive.

    As for WHEN these would be necessary, couldn't really give you an exact threshold. However, once you've gone to uniball UCA's & coilovers, the only weak point in your suspension(given all the added stiffness w/springs, bushings etc) are your spindles at that point.

    Tons of guys wheel their asses off with mid travel set ups similar to this w/o guessets and come out just fine lol. For me it was a peace of mind mod.....because I hate doing things twice. ;)
