Doing my own maintenance and warranty?

Hey guys, was thinking of doing my own 60k service....oil change, spark plugs, front and rear diff fluids and maybe taking it somewhere for tranny and transmission flush!

Will doing that work myself void my extended warranty? I had the maintenance agreement so my oil changes were beeing done by Toyota but that has ended and will start doing my own work!

What do you guys do as far as oil changes and services?

 

nope, keep copies of your receipts if possible and document the date it was done (I actually use the back of the manual) and you should be good.

I do the same. I've written everything down on the inside cover of the manual. All the dates and mileage of the oil changes (including when it was switched to Mobil 1), air filter changes, diff fluids, plugs, x-fer case and ATF change.

To the OP, if you keep your records, it won't void your warranty unless they can show that you did something wrong and that led to a warrantable part to fail (like you forgot to put oil in and the engine seized or the drain plug was overtightened and stripped)

 

On the toyota website under the owners tab is a place you can document your own service work as well. It is easy way to keep track & Toyota can see it too. It is based on your VIN. You can see the dealership services as well.
