2" or 2.5" if you're going off the the lower and 4" if you're going off the spindle bolt. Cant do it off the stock spindle and you need a engine cage

    example on a first gen

oh I didn't know you can use the stock spindles. I guess bumping off the spindle is out of the question for me then.

I'm using the stock bumps with spacers that were provided to me in my TC kit. They clearly didn't work when I stuffed it this past desert trip so I need something more than a rubber bump. I think I'll do the bump off the LCA then.

All you have to do is fully box and strengthen the stock spindle and you should be able to bump off the UCA bolt. You just need to weld a strike plate on top of the bolt.

I dont have aftermarket spindles but Sick Nick is going to fully box and strengthen my stock 4x4 spindles to bump off the UCA bolt.

less bump travel, more effective leveraging position farther away from the pivot, and i can use a 4" bump stroke without having half of my suspension travel in bump. Also less scrubbing on the bump stop.

Overall, it is stronger and more effective.

    two questions on air bumps:

    1. Is the mounting location for bumps in the rear the same with SUA as it is SOA?

    2. Can I run the bumps with just plain pressurized air?

I picked up a set of SAW 2'' x 4'' bumps at a garage sale for $20 and I want to bolt 'em up, but I will be going SUA in the future.

I know I can't bolt them up, I'm going to weld a bump can up to plate steel and go from there.

Think a tire store that does nitrogen can get them up to 100 PSI?

no need to go 2-300 psi on the rear with leaf springs, especially for a truck that doesn't look like it does much desert running

    1. The axle is going to go higher, meaning you have more up travel with SUA. It will be hard to get the bump to work with both in the same spot up travel wise

    2. Ive heard regular air has water wich will corrode the inside of the shock
