    Has anyone done a rear leaf spring swap themselves? I see this procedure sometime in my future, and couldn't find anything completely relevant when searching

    Jack up the truck and place jackstands under frame.
    Lower jack so axle is at full droop.
    Place smaller jackstands under axle and do the following side at a time:

    Unbolt lower shock bolt
    Remove ubolts
    Unbolt rear shackle bolt
    Unbolt front hanger bolt

    Install new spring in reverse order.

    **Use new ubolts

    I have done all the hi-pro mods for a life time, since I got this truck at a great price, I will be happy with showroom new.
    and treat all the bolts with power blaster or some kind of bolt lub, over and over before you do this it will make it somewhat easier. I have worked on old tag-a-long trailers and air guns would not make the old bolts move, and to save time we would have to take a touch to them.

    -meaning it seems very straightforward...wasn't sure about getting the alignment correct, but that's something I'll have a shop do when I'm done

    There's real "aligning" a rear solid axle. The centering pin of the leaf pack goes into the hole on the spring perch....and then it's centered.

    As long as you're not dealing with stubborn bolts, it is easy. I did two spring pack replacements back to back this past Saturday in about an hour.
