Everything's great! Got my alignment 2 days ago and they went on and on about how great the truck aligned with all the lift parts on. They said they wish everyone would use these components. No vibes at all so far that I've noticed. I still haven't put the spacers on the front. I decided to wait till the ones for the rear from the GB came in and put them all on at once. Still just rubbing at full lock on the UCA's. I just try not to turn to full lock when I can. I noticed they did adjust the UCA on the passenger side but left the drivers side alone. At times I notice the transmission hunt a little with the 33's but not bad. Mileage is running around 15.2 with the new kicks. I'm heading to north Georgia tomorrow morning trout fishing and will be towing a bass boat so that ought to drop the mpg's some. lol

Post up pics when you get going on the lift.

Thats great man, I've been searching around for alignment specs for afterwards. I'll definitely be posting pics as i go. You offered a while back, so if you still want to you should pm me your cell in case we run into any hiccups. If not its no big deal we should be fine. Thanks murph!

From what's circulating around TW, you're going to want 0 toe, 0 camber, and anywhere from 2.4-3.0 caster. I think i'm at 2.3 caster and don't rub anywhere. Truck drives straight down the road with no wandering. Fortunately, your caster won't affect tire wear, just the positioning of the tire in relation to the front and rear of the wheel well. Looking forward to pics!

Thanks! Yeah those are the numbers i've been finding from my searching. I think i've only had to get an alignment for one vehicle in my lifetime, and I'm pretty sure I just dropped it off and got it done, didn't pay attention to specs or anything. Will I need to tell the alignment shop the numbers that I want, or should I just tell them that I want the trucks alignment as close to perfect as possible?

I would give them the specs you want it dialed in to

I am in a similar situation. Gonna do my lift install soon and I am like a squirrel now trying to gather all the needed info to get it done. I would rather do it myself for the experience and to save money but I need to make sure it gets done right. I need some info on the torque specs and alignment info as well as much install info as possible. I have never done a lift install on a truck.

X2! Dropped her off at the alignment shop....had a few issues with the sway bar during the install, but we were able to solve one issue, and the alignment shop should be able to fix the other problem, as seen in this thread:

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/218513-sway-bar-problems-ome-install.html

Here are a few pics of the finished product, but they don't do it justice IMO. There is a huge difference in the ride, the truck feels so much more solid and beefy. The ride is definitely stiffer, but it a good way, coming from my previously frowning leaf springs and squishy stock shocks. I recorded all of my before and after measurements, but I forgot the notepad at the house this morning. I also still need to take some pictures of the CV angles, and a few other pics for reference to see what y'all think - it sits higher than I expected and I initially gained more than 3 inches front and back, but i know it will settle. Still sittin on the 265's - they look small, but not goofy enough for me to buy new tires just yet, I can live with the look til these wear out. Here's what I got so far:

    Looks good Dan.
Did you notice how an OME lift even makes the sun shine brighter?
What size tires are you getting when these wear out?

:woot: Looks great Dan! Glad to see your happy with it. It's kinda hard to describe the ride without someone riding in it. lol I towed a 77 ranger bass boat and two huge coolers that weighed about 300 lbs in the bed along with all the gear for 5 people to fish with for 3 days and the truck sat level with all that onboard and rode awesome. I was very impressed with the OME setup. Your going to love having that on your truck!

    Thanks man!

Haha that's true! The sun was shinin, birds were singin, catfish were a jumpin...

I really like the look of the 255/85/16's but since its a daily driver i think my mpg's would take a beating with a mud terrain. I'll probably end up with a 285/75/16 all terrain...unless somebody can convince me otherwise
Yeah man, definitely happy with it! Did you catch any fish? I ended up installing the differential drop and the carrier bearing drop when I put the lift on. Post lift, I've noticed some vibes when starting out and coming to a stop, and aslo around 35-45mph. So i'm gonna have to play around with some stuff and see what I can do to make those go away. Kinda wish I wouldn't have installed those parts just to see if I woulda been vibe-free without em. I doubt those two parts would cause more vibrations tho...right? I have axle shims waiting to be installed whenever I make the decision. Gonna make a better assessment tonight when I drive it home from the alignment shop.

The diff drop may be causing the vibration. I read on here somewhere that it caused some on their truck. When they took it off it went away.

Yeah there were over 200 trout caught this weekend from our group. I got the big fish at 6 lbs 4 oz and 24 1/4" long. Got a pic in the show us your fish thread and in my gallery. It was pretty awesome to catch a rainbow trout that big over here.

My guess is the 285 ATs would be even worse on MPGs than 255 MTs due to the extra weight. I only put the 255s on when I go wheeling but I still got 19.5 MPGs (on a 220 mile trip with 30 miles of it off road) istead of the usual 20.5 MPGs.
I've also heard the diff drop can cause vibes among other problems.

Just got it back from the alignment shop. I'll post up my alignment numbers soon. The shutters/vibes happen at take-off and I can feel it in the gas pedal and steering wheel, almost feels like they undulate. I can also feel vibrations coming from the rear at 35-45. I think I'll try taking the diff. drop and see what happens
