Mud flaps and removing them

How do I get the mudflaps off my 2nd ten Tacoma?

 

three screws and about three clips that pop out on each

 

Or you could do as many others have and just run over a curb or something similar like an ant hill and have them ripped off.

 

So the clips DO pop off, ok. I was prying on them with my knife earlier and they wouldn't pop out.

My truck is lifted and has Bilsteins, so I don't think the ripping mud flaps off would work

 

The clips are a PITA. All but one of mine broke during the removal. That could be b/c I wasn't doing it right...? Who knows?

 

The center of the clips pull out with a small screw driver, a little force may be required, then the clip pulls out. Remove the three 10mm bolts, remove the mud flap, and reinstall one bolt. I just removed the front ones on my prerunner today.

 

what kind of screwdriver did you guys use to get them off?

took no more then 15 minutes total, and i took my time and got all of the clips out with out breaking any of them

 

I realize a flat or phillips will work. I guess I should have asked, do you remove the tire or use a shorter screwdriver?

i took all 4 off with out even turning the wheel, can keep them on and straight
