So they didn't have the bed liner spray in red, only black. I picked up some 500 degree engine paint in a darker red. This should be fine, right?

I got the phone call this morning and I just got back from picking my skid up :yay: .Question regarding installation of the mid/transmission skid. For the rear bolts are we reusing the bolts/nuts? Also do you know how tight, tq numbers, for those bolts/nuts?

I've already tried to break the bolts lose with just a regular ratchet wrench and it wouldn't budge. Impact/breaker bar for sure....

Just installed set 1 of 2.

    Method:
    1) Take the stock shit off.
    2) Take the mounting members for the stock stuff off the front.
    3) Grunt and Cuss up a storm getting the BEEFY ass skids into place.
    4) Drink Beer and enjoy.

Had to modify the transfer skid to fit with the crossover pipe that SJE and I got...Mocked the skid into place and marked it out- Used a cut off wheel to get to chunked out and then grinder for the edges:

    Otherwise- Went together great:

Any questions- Just ask. I'm finishing up paint on mine and they'll be getting put on this week/weekend.

Eric-Great work- I'm even more excited about my bumpers now!!!

Just got mine today! It sure is a beast compared to stock. And yeah the install guide would've greatly appreciated for those who aren't the most confident with simple tools lol. And how is everyone holding the skid up while you bolt it in? Just have a couple guys holding it or use a jack?

I primered mine today and am going to let them sit overnight. Tomorrow I'll slap a few coats of paint on them before class and flip them over when I get back to do the other side.

I just used a floor Jack when I put on my bumpers... I'm sure it will work for these skids as well. No where near as heavy or awkward.

Good to hear everyone is getting them now.
    Thanks for the compliment.
Thanks for the pics, glad you guys are liking them. :D
Been working my ass off to get caught up on bumpers now that these skids are shipped.
A 4" or so extension on a standard socket works fine.
Nice Eric, it sure is beef!
I'll get that install guide posted in a day or two for you guys. IFS and mid skids are a piece of cake, tcase is slightly more involved.

yep, floor jack is the best bet for the skids, especially for the IFS. If you've got a buddy helping, I find one guy on each side of the mid and tcase skids works well for installing, otherwise grab the jack again! ;)

Finally got my skids. Fastenal has had them since Friday with no call. WTF. Working on getting them coated now. Things are beefier than I thought. Only complaint I have, and I imagine Fastenal is to blame, is that I had 7 stickers I had to scrape off before I could do anything.
