I find comfort in the fact that many TW members are using or have used Spidertrax in the past, and from what I hear they are the best in the industry, if installed and torqued to exact specifications.

I don't mind checking them every so often to make sure they're still torqued down, and to me, the adapter design seems stronger than extended bolts. And please remember, I need a solution TODAY, before my calipers/new wheels are ruined. This may very well be a temporary solution until I can order the correct parts for what I need. As it is, she's sitting really wide on all four...the front is going to look like a pseudo-prerunner after these 1.25"s.

Just be sure and carry the same thin wall socket and ratchet required to install the spacers with you at ALL TIMES.

We had about 15 trucks held up for a hr cause one of the guys decided to leave his tools at home and never check his torque on his spacers. Spacer came loose on the trail and we had to hammer in a socket to tighten them. Not so easy to get back out once hammered in.

Were they the Spidertrax adapters??? That worries me...I think I'll be selling these wheels for a set that have the correct backspacing. I'm getting way too freaked out by these horror stories.

That would be the safest thing to do in my opinion.

FWIW, I was able to use my standard Craftsman socket on another member's Spidertrax spacers. It was a snug fit, but it worked. I'd imagine if you have a Mac or Snap On set, the sidewall might be a bit thicker and wouldn't work.

ALL SPACERS will come loose if you don't take proper care of them. I ran spidertrax spacers for about 2 months before I took them off and during that time I checked them a couple different times and they did need to be re-torqued once from loosening. This is typical though and is explained in the installation instructions.

Adding spacers is adding another point to fail - simple as that. If you keep an eye on them and install them correctly you shouldn't have an issue.

We were using my impact sockets so the wall was thick. Not enough people carry the tools required to do simple work....just wanted to remind OP to carry one with him. Not having it at all times is like not having a spare tire or kleaving your wheel lug nut lock 'key' at home IMO.

We actually got them on last night, and I definitely have the right tools for the job. I just need to put a set in the truck with a torque wrench.

At least the wheel clears the caliper nicely now...This is just the temporary fix until I can figure out what to do with these wheels.

checked my spidertraxx a couple weeks ago, all torqued to spec still. This is after 2 years of hard desert wheeling.

I am having a similar situation with some wheels. Out of curiosity what is the offset of the wheels you used?
