03 Double cab 4x4 build

Well after lots of research it turned out that fox and king were on the same level so if you want to save yourself some money buy the Kings but either way you will have a nice set of coilovers!

Great looking truck, I have the same one, im looking to buy some kings all around, what u used to lift the back?

 

As of right now I have stock shocks and re-arched leafs in the rear but I am switching that out to some Fabtech shocks I picked up from Anthony250 this weekend and then in a few months when the funds allow it, I will be getting the wheelers leaf pack and some new suspension for the rear, most likely King! The bilsteins are supposed to be awesome for the rear as well and will most definitely save you a pretty penny

 

It really depends on how hard you push your truck but you def cant go wrong with Kings

Your best bet is to keep your eye on the For Sale thread or contact Down South Motorsports. They gave me an awesome deal and their customer service is amazing!!!

 

Nice setup, Tacomagirl. I have had Kings on the front of my truck for years, they need rebuilt now, need to figure out the rear end, stock leafs are sagging big time.

 

Sick ass coilovers nice truck btw! I like the 1st gen double cabs!

 

Thank you! Do you know what it is going to cost to get the Kings rebuilt just for future reference? I had my leafs re-arched at a local shop in town and it lifted my truck 2" in the rear. It isn't a permanent solution, but it works for now and looks so much better.

I talked to King, about a month ago, they said between $125 - $175 depending on what each shock needs. When I talked to them, they were about 3 to 4 weeks out on rebuilds.

 

Thats not bad but if you dont live near King you will have to ship them too. You should be able to have someone who knows what they are doing rebuild them for a little less than that. If your able to install your own shocks you can rebuild them, its pretty easy if you watch the videos King has and King will ship you whatever is needed for rebuild for pretty cheap

 

I will check into what it takes to rebuild them myself, Thank you! I have a set stock coils and shocks I can put on in the mean time!

 

That's not bad at all. A lot more reasonable than what I was thinking. But CR250Jumper is right about the shipping. I live one state away from them but for someone further away it will cost quite a bit. Doing the rebuild yourself is supposed to be pretty straightforward but if you do it yourself you should share your experience and let us know what you think

 

Okay, talked to King yesterday, $113.00 to rebuild CO shocks, with under a week turn around if it is your daily driver and you are local. Did not find any video on King's website for the rebuild.

 

That seems like a fair price and time for a rebuild to me. Thanks for getting the info!
