Anyone know how to keep the back end from trying to rotate over the front of the truck off a jump? I'm thinking it'll help when I gear it higher, but what do I need to do suspension wise?

    Sorry no fancy paint jobs.

Looks like I can't upload video from my phone. I'll find some of our YouTube links sooner or latter.

We turned my buddy's horse arena in to a rc track.

Are you saying the ass-end is rising? If so sounds like you may chopping the throttle when leaving the jump face. You can hold a tad of throttle, or give a little to drop the rear end. Your tires are a greater rotating mass compaired to model weight, than your SC is/was. That make sense?

Yea. The rear is rotating forward over the front tires. (cart before the horse type thing, and it tends to land on it's top off bigger, steeper jumps.) If I hold the throttle wide open it helps just a little bit. I think it's a combination of how low it's currently geared (going to fix that) and the rear suspension being a tad stiff.

Raise your from ride height (compress front springs) a tad and retest. If that helps rear could be stiff. Also, how long is the face of the jump, if it's short, and the front tires are off the face before the rears, it'll cause "slap", kinda like your describing.

Hmm. It does it on almost any jump with a shorter face. Hadn't ever thought about that. I think playing with the ride height may help.

It's got these little screws in the a-arms that limit "droop" some call it downtravel :notsure: (Just noticed them) What are the pros and cons of more droop or less droop?

Allows your model to sit lower, better CG, best on smooth tracks.

I don't see how droop would effect ride height?

It can, but I've seen it used mostly to change weight transfer from front to back when accelerating and from back to front when braking, also affects how the truck behaves in the air, to much travel on front can cause it to happen what you said was happening to you in jumps.

Adjusted it so that I get full droop in the rear and cranked down the front springs a bit, almost totally, completely fixed it. I have no idea why or how, but it fixed it.

Got 3 packs through it today, and I'm only more impressed. It's very smooth and stable. From a distance it looks like a 1/8th truggy in the way that it moves over terrain. Drove it around in a parking lot, the grip was absolutely awesome and it cornered very, very level. The sway bars seem to help that a lot.

The stock tires are pretty good on that clay oval track at my buddy's house.

My only complaints so far: When you're driving in gravel, rocks can get up in the wheels and lock things up. To fix it you can fidget the throttle a bit or pick it out by hand. No big deal.

Also, I had to dremel the battery tray to accept my lipo batteries. Again, no big deal.

The main thing I don't like is the lack of diff oil. I've got some to put it in it. I'm curious to see how it affects the way it drives with 30,000wt in all 3 diffs.

I bet if you look at the rear of the pan it's got scuffs from the ass end slapping the face of the jump and kicking it up like you were describing. In other news, just got home from the track and somethings wrong w ith my 1/8, it's like its not getting power to the wheels, something is slipping. I "think" it's the center diff, but I don't know. Problem is, I don't have a manuel, and didn't build this model. Not sure how to attack it...
