What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Hey Scott, this mod was one of the most intimadating I have done to date, but now having done it, not bad at all. Just about anyone can do this mod. Just don't burn your cardboard Don't ask!

 

was it hard to do? cuz im thinking of doing this over the summer

Just had my 4XInnovations sliders welded on yesterday. Solid as hell.







Next week is the 3" Suspension Lift pics to come.

 

Washed the bird poop off for the second day in a row ugh. Why do they pick my truck. Im guessing because its the most shiny?!?! Two other white cars right next to my white truck and they poop on the nicest one. Ohh well it comes off easy if you catch it fast.

 

Progress so far on the rear bumper........

Start after I flipped the hitch around...


Added some mounts for the tube.


Upper and lower tube and the mount for the swing away. Had to grind down a bunch on the swing away to get it to open 180 degrees and have the tailgate still open.


Swing away actually has a turnbuckle to lower the tire to the ground so that you don't have to pull it off from chest height.


Pretty centered for the 1st try...


Had to take a little off the bedsides to accommodate the side supports. Bed side will get a small layer of bedliner to help with the rust. Inside is also braced so that it doesn't move around as much.


I'll try to post a better pic of the finished one. This is as close as I have at the moment. The curved corners were matched and in as well as a diagonal brace from the front of the bedside pieces to the lower part of the center section.

My truck two days ago...



My truck today...

 

Earl (my trucks name) all of a sudden turned into a work truck today, working between two estates today and had to haul black earth and promix, rakes, tools and all the debrise, hated to do that!!

 

Washed mine today...again

 

Me too...i tend to do this mod ALOT...even if its not dirty

 

See, and I NEVER do that mod. Just makes my truck look wrong somehow.....

 

Looks very clean. I like the look of the factory wheels on with that set up.

Washing it keeps it healthy And reduces risk of invasive plants & organisms getting around!
