    Haha didnt even see the welded rear end.

    Wheeling, I would take manual any day. The only disadvantage I have ever had was when I was running with Tony, and I needed to switch from the brake to gas really quick while going downhill to uphill in the snow. Didnt want it to kick out on the snow but didnt want to get stuck. Having the control on the gears just makes it so much better IMO.

    Its so much easier, i'm sorry, but having a stock manual transmission in a truck just gives you a false sense of control that is almost negligible compared to an auto. Now having a "manual" on the dirt bike vs a rekluse is a lot different and actually does give you more control a lot of the time. But in a truck its not as precise

    Only because you can stay in first which gives you a a tad more engine braking than having it in lo4 and L. I wish they made a way to control front and rear brakes independently like on a motorcycle. it would make down hill descents much more controllable.

    I have to disagree with most of that. While yes you can gain a "false" sense of control, I find it hard to say that most of the time its false. I see it more in the same aspect, if not better, than compared to a bike. Say your climbing a hill, your in auto your just gonna floor it the second you start stopping (unless you have experience, in which case your probably still gonna be flooring it to put it in overdrive.) While in a manual if you were going at a higher gear (3rd) you can on the fly downshift to 2nd or if come to a complete stop go back to first and crawl at a much easier pace.

    Just my opinion from the different times wheeling with friends in trucks with different trannys.

    one of the reasons an auto is far better:cool: all i can think of would be quick on the e brake before it started sliding back and get on that power to make it stand still and roll forward once you release the e brake

    Took me time to get that down too. Go find a steep street hill, or even dirt, streets easier to start tho.

    Get halfway up it. Sit on your brake like your waiting and just practice smooth controlled switching from clutch/brake to clutch/gas. If you get really good you can sit in neutral on the brake and pop it in 1st and hit the gas but most the time I'll sit on the clutch unless its a long light on the street.

    see i have so little experience off roading a truck compared to a bike where i have done 7 years doing 100% off road trail riding so wheeling with an auto is new news to me. But why cant i do all of the stuff you are talking about with an auto? its the same thing you do the tranny just does it for me. if i want to go faster, just more gas. if i want to slow down less gas. if i want to come to a stop i can slow way down, stop, and just start again slower. its all the same principle I just dont have to shift the transmission like you do. for the most part the gears will be the same in both transmissions if you are doing the same thing.


    OR just let off the brake:D

    You can, I just find it easier with an manual, except in the case of down shifting (I dont count having to stop and put it in lo). Lol honestly to me its all about preference. I seem better with the manual, but I cant deny I have definitely just smashed the throttle on some autos and made it where I needed to go lol.


    Haha let it off the brake, roll back, excuse for offroad bumper:D

    Hahaha definitely.

    Hold it with the gear, if your going to slip back holding your brakes then you have to either hold it with the clutch and first (depending on how steep) or make a quick decision and get your ass over it.
