    Huh, I guess I always figured it was a lot :notsure:
    Its my companys contracted bussing company, so I found out when I got into work today that they moved everything 20 min forward for next 50 days because of our shutdown across site. Meaning higher bus loads of people too and dirty ones at that..

    Like come on people, can't you at least shower before getting on the bus.. :mad:

    Simple fix for this situation (I run into it all the time with lack of answers from architects and GC's).... When I submit an RFI I state on it that any delayed responses WILL impact the completion date. Then I state that if my questions are not answered by (insert date) the project will not completed by (insert date).

    I do a good deal of work that has liquidated damages (up to $5,000 per day) for lack of completion. I always cover my ass on them. Right now I'm working on a job that has the GC in for $30k a day for LD....and the GC will be late...hahaha

    just twiddle your thumbs and hope you get answers?

    That doesn't work in my trade.

    We are always the last to install our product unless it's the shell so every other trade already makes us late. When I get a job I look at the schedule and strait up tell the GC if we can't start installing by this date we will NOT be completed on time. Seems to get me off the hook all the time. Right now I have an entire subway station shut down waiting for glass because the architect failed to respond in time. The blame is not on me because I was pro active and stated all the timing issues on day one.

    I also sleep better at night when I know my bases are covered.

    Pretty much. They'll drag their feet and then when we can't make the date they stomp and scream like a 2 year old and we make our production guys work around the clock to meet the deadline.
    I had one job that was late and the customer demanded to back charge us. When I tracked the progress of the project and could show that for every 1 day the project was in our hands it spent something like 6 days waiting on him. He shut up pretty quickly then :cool:
