After looking around this site I was amazed at the information I have found and it seems like a good place to visit. A little about my story and my attraction to the Tacomas....

Bought my first Taco in 99 brand new which is a dark green 4x4 access cab. Drove it until 2006 and wanted something new so I parked it in my garage still running great with 144k on the odometer. After looking at the new style Tacomas I decided to try a Nissan Frontier 4x4 as I thought they had better bang for the buck at the time plus I liked the 4 wheel disc brakes that was not an option on the new Tacos.

Drove the Nissan until this last week and once it hit 60k I decided to trade it. Honestly it was a good truck with plenty of power and no problems however it never really grew on me like my old Tacoma so I went back to a new Tacoma.

Just drove 200 miles in order to get the only 2009 Magnetic Gray 4x4 in my state with a manual tranny. So now I still have my 99 that I play in and am loving the 2009 Taco just as much.....I should have never strayed anyway but I am happy now.

Only negatives I see about the 2009 right now is the weird design of the back access area and in my opinion that horrible sub enclosure. I was very excited to see so many members mod their Tacos and a search has shown me many options to mod my back seat area to remove the console and sub if I want.

So to sum it up I like this forum and have learned much already....thanks for having me and I plan on posting a few questions in the proper areas.

There are some very nice Tacomas on this site and I already have a list of some must have mods prepared. I believe I have just discovered that along with my new higher truck payment I will be spending the rest of my cash on all of the goodies I have seen here.

What a really cool place to visit and I can not believe some of the very slick trucks I have seen. I have a huge list of mods I have found and am trying to sort out which ones I have to have.....there is a lot of stuff on here to sort through.

I spend much time in my truck while in uniform (police officer) and notice the factory seats appear to be kind of a thin material. With all the stuff on my duty belt it can wear a seat out pretty fast. I found a few threads showing some very neat seat covers made from wet suit material and I believe that will be one of my first purchases.

I really want a skid plate and step bars as well as a hood deflector however that will be a later purchase. I really did alot of reading on the black headlight mod and think that just looks simply beautiful if done correctly. I also really like the trucks that have had the front grill cut out and replaced with the mesh grill...cant think of the name of the mod but it is really nice looking.

I also really like the various decals made by sockmonkey and am planning on ordering a few TRD decals soon....that guy really has some cool stuff on his site. Anyway thanks again for the welcome and after my first wash and wax I will add a few pics....I love this new magnetic gray color for 2009 by the way.

I personally think the access cab is the best looking version and kept the same style for my 09 version in magnetic gray.
