Does anyone have any homemade salsa recipes?

I have one that has always been a hit with everyone and it is easy to make :hungry:

1 large can of whole peeled tomatoes
1 regular can of tomato paste
    1 serrano pepper-chopped
    1 jalapeno pepper-chopped
    1 piece of garlic clove-chopped
    1 bunch of cilantro
    1 large white onion-chopped
    1 lime-squeezed
    1 lemon-squeezed
    salt and pepper

Put it all in a blender and mix it all up really well, this is not a chunky salsa. This makes 1 blender full, easy to double the recipe for parties.
Stays good for about 4 days in the fridge, but fresh is always better. This usually ends up mild to medium depending on the size and freshness of the peppers.

My wife and I love to experiment in the kitchen, here's one of our not-so-traditional salsa recipes. We typically put it on grilled chicken and porkcops, and it's good with chips too.

    Mix:
    2 finely chopped large peaches
    2 finely chopped plum tomatoes
    1/2 cup diced red onion
1 diced jalepeno (more or less according to preference)
    3 tbs Lime Juice
    1/4 cup chopped cilantro
    1/4 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp ground pepper

Take half the chopped mixture and set it aside, place the remainder in a blender and blend until smooth. Mix the blended ingredients back with the chopped stuff and chill before serving.

Definitely, I hand chop all my ingredients before they get blended so I can control the size of the chunks.

Haha, maybe I'll try that when I'm making a batch just for me. My wife makes me take the seeds out of the jalapeno when I'm making it for the two of us, I can only imagine what she'd think of the habanero version.

I love a chunky salsa (or maybe that makes it Pico...IDK)

2 rough chopped Roma type or 4 or 5 plum tomatoes
1 rough chopped Medium Purple or White onion
    1 diced Jalapeno
    1 diced Poblano or Serrano
    1 clove garlic
    1/4 cup cilantro
    Lime juice (To taste)
    Pinch of Salt and Pepper
Chili powder (or other hot makers)-To taste

I rarely make the same salsa twice...Lil more lime and cilantro for a fresher taste. More Chili Powder or peppers for burn. I've used Rotel when I was in a rush.

    Another Winner:

    BLACK BEAN AND CORN SALSA
1 15 oz. can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 11 oz. can whole kernel corn, drained
1 t minced fresh jalpeno pepper
    1 avacado, chopped
    2 medium tomatoes, chopped
    1 red bell pepper, chopped
1/3 c. chopped fresh cilantro (or subst. 1 t dried cilantro)
    1/4 c. diced red onion
1/4 c. fresh lime juice (about 2 limes, squeezed)
    1 t. salt
    tortilla chips for dipping
Combine all ingredients except avacado and chips. Cover and chill for at least two hours. Add avacado just before serving. Serve with chips.

OEM All Weather Mats, wheel locks, Toyota Silver Tube steps.....
    3 jalapeños
    1/8 onion
    1/2 tomato

Put on water to boil slowly until the jalapeños are easily pierced by a knife, then pour everything on the blender, just do not add all the water, add half a tooth of garlic, blend, and thats it.

Well you could use fresh tomatoes in mine also, but it is hard enough to get the fresh peppers here in Vegas without going to 2 stores :(. I'd think 1 can of whole peeled tomatoes would be about 2 tomatoes??

    :gossip: Just post it!

Very similar to my blended one, I'll have to try this and see how my boyfriend likes it :D.

    My recipe:

    1) head to girlfriend's house
    2) open fridge
    3) grab bowl of fresh made salsa
    4) grab chips
    5) enjoy

We love salsa and look forward to following this thread. But, please remember ..... don't eat foamy salsa or salsa with bubbles on the surface. We had friends that did and got food poisoning.
