Shakey steering wheel after new wheels and tires

I had XD revolvers (17x9) with duratracs (265/70/17) installed yesterday on my 2010 DC with a toytec lift (2.5"). The shop said they balanced the tires but when I get up highway speed 55+ the steering wheel shakes pretty bad. I am taking it back to the shop for them to look at it again. Any thoughts on what this could be. I love the new look of the truck but I am not down with the scary shaking.

They are out of balance, or the wrong wheel.

 

Duratracs are notorious for being difficult to balance. I have the same exact problem. Same size tires and everything. And lift

 

Make sure you have the right lug nuts. You need the ones with the shank to ensure that the wheel is centered on the hub or you need to use adapters to make the wheels hub centric.

 

+2 on road force balance and make sure the shop knows how to actually use the road force balancer. It's the only way to go. It will check the tire and wheel for high spots and tell the technician the best way to mount the tire on the rim for the best balance. Also, make sure they use an adapter that uses the lug nut holes to mount to the balancer. I have one shop that I use for all tire balancing and I never have a shake from a tire they balance.
