Nah, I have an 07 Grand Cherokee (WK) with the 5.7Hemi in it. Great car, I have loved it. but the ongoing maintenance costs, terrible mileage and dreaded knowledge that my gods-be-damned Chrysler transmission is going to crap out at any time unannounced, time to change things up!

I had a '96 4runner before this Jeep. bought it from a little old lady. Only had 30K on it when I bought it in 2008. Not too long later my little brother rolled it driving down Pima in the rain. :/

Hahahahaha not shamelss, effective selling technique!

Let me get the title in hand, then i may hit you up for the exhaust. I have been looking at magnaflow already because I like how they sound on most other vehicles.

Good starting price point too ;)

Anyone else attempt to install extended brake lines only to find that the factories seem to be torqued to 5,000,000 foot pounds? What the eff?

quoted to show to my GF, I want her to get rid of her WK but she will not...you think you get bad gas mileage, imagine having half the power with the same mileage...that sucks

Arg. I have spent the last 3 hours (in between actually working) looking at fun things i want for my Toy.

Looks like part of my regular toy (read: firearms) budget is going to be rolled into my Car budget for a while.

What year and how many miles?

If you have the QuadradiveII and use the 4Lo somewhat regularly, you will need to be VERY careful with it. My dad burned the clutches out on the t-case in the first 30K, just regular driving in the snow up in UT. I bought it from him at 36K. Now at 70K I can feel it starting to act up again and I havn't used the 4lo in almost 7 months. Admittedly, I have beat the living crap outta my Jeep at time or two just because the sound of that V8 roaring in the mud is damn addictive.

I guess what I am trying to say is make sure you do the T-case service (not necessarily dealer) and keep an eye on it.

It is much easier to trade it in for a new Toy than pay $2500 in parts and labor for a new T-case. Not saying that's what I am doing or anything......:D

Front lines. The lines to be replaced are female on both ends, but the male part is very brittle and very snug.

Is there anyone who owns and is good with a welder that would be willing to weld my seat mounts for my '40 in the west valley? I have to cut them down about 3" because the guy who built them set them all the way down instead of all the way up and I can barely get my leg under the steering wheel.

Wellllll you have a completely different T-case than I do at the moment. therefore I have no experience with what it's expected longevity is.

    Goodluck with that one!

Haha Ho'kay I shouldn't laugh at your misfortune. From what i have researched/ heard, you should have what is the Quadradrive I. Which means you have the all time 4 hi, but not the selectable 4lo. So you should have pretty impressive levels of traction control when faced with difficult weather conditions, but not the faithful 4Lo option to get you out of a bind.

I had a buddy who had a similar Rig that your Lady does and he didn't have the problems that I do/did. Maybe the difference in torque from the V6 (which I assume you have) to the V8 is killer on the tranny's/tranfercase.

Either way, your GF has a serious problem in MPG. My Jeep had every option they put in the chassis; RV camera, parking sensors, 6 disk/mp3 NAV Boston acoustic sound system, somewhat impressive stock suspension Etc....

I am still happier with my new Taco. :D

Jake, if I set the cruise control at 65-70 from phoenix to tucson I actually get about 22mpg. Around town if I pay attention and use a few gas saving habits I get 18-19 if not a ton of traffic. On average though just daily driving a 50/50 mix of freeway and city I average 17-19 mpg right now. Its gone down a little since my bumpers and M/T tires.

On my trip home to Washington last year around thanksgiving I actually averaged 23mpg. Thats because I did most the trip at 55 and coming down out of all the mountains I basically just let the engine keep my speed so was getting like 60+mpg coming down the mountains.
