Old school Sigma 50mm 2.8 AIS lens. I can focus on something thats pretty much inside the barrel of the lens. Its ridiculous. And very sharp!!! When I first tried it out I was focusing on a leaf a few inches off the ground and almost fell over trying to figure out how close I could go... LoL

    For reference:

try using a higher f-stop to get everything in focus, i think that would work well in this shot.

What about focus stacking? That would give it a 3d look with the knife coming out but also, imo, I think it would look better if the knife wasn't through the trigger hole.

I call this the "super mobile camera jib". Eventually I will put my dslr on there .

Justin, Your jib setup looks pretty damn cool! Is that flex in the lower part of the arm?
Can you add a cable controlled pan for the camera mount?

Thanks Ian! It was a pain in the ass figuring out what parts/material to use. I plan on adding a couple pulleys to add the ability to pan horizontally and maybe vertically depending on the difficulty but that will require a different mounting bracket on the end. For now, the only flex is on the wood base because I haven't put anything underneath it yet for more support but I'm sure it will flex when I put my dslr on there.

Something I have been dreaming about is hooking it up to a stepper motor with a cable that will pull the jib down or up for an epic motion time lapse! Still just a dream though...lol.

I've seen some TL's that look like they use a jib but I can't figure out if it's that or a push/pull kind of move on a longer rail.

Hmm, it could just be the rail is setup vertically. I could try rigging the jib to be pulled down/diagonally and also have the bracket on the end attached to a pulley to make it pan horizontally at the same time. Could also hook the camera remote up to an audio splitter so it can control two stepper motors...that would open up some creative possibilities!

it's SLIGHTLY overexposed (did it on purpose), but on my display i can still see all the details, rather, on my screen its not blown out.

EDIT: just looked on my iPhone, and my iPad and it looks exactly as it does on my mac.... (details still all preserved), its just brighter
