I hate living in Orange County...

Pulled over last night for not having plates because the DMV hasn't issued me CA plates yet, and the cop doesn't believe me, thinking I stole the truck. After showing him the temp. registration on the windshield, he walked away saying have a nice night.

THEN....today as I head into Holy Jim's for some mild wheeling with the new tires, I see 2 sheriffs in crown vics parked on the dirt talking. He rolls his window down and I greeted them politely and asked if the road was open, he said yes but stay on the dirt road.

I head up about a mile, and see a dirt trail I've always wanted to try back there. I head up, turn around and come back down, and the sheriffs are waiting on the main road, get out and ask why I didn't stay on the road. After explaining to them that I thought this was a road (clearly there have been MANY 4x4's up there) he says no the main road is the only road you can be on, and they'll write me a huge ticket otherwise. I pleaded ignorance and stated I thought he meant stay out of the creek bed and off the rocks...they let me go. Just before they got back in their cruisers, he asked me if it was a 4x4. I said yes, and he says be careful, tons of people get stuck on this road.

LOL...Holy Jim's is graded for Honda Civics...

So they keep following me into the canyon, swerving potholes, slowing down over ruts, and once it came time to cross the river they turned around...

GET ME OUTTA THIS PLACE! I WANT TO GO WHEELIN' WITHOUT FEELING PERSECUTED!!!:mad::mad:

    Sorry...needed to vent..

I guess I shouldn't blame the cops, because they're doing their job...

I blame all those stupid high school kids who go back there to get high or try to take their moms Range Rover through a 5 foot deep puddle and get stuck.

So you got away with an improperly licensed vehicle (even of it wasn't your fault the cop could easily have written the ticket and let you take it up with the judge).

And then you got away without a ticket (like perhaps failure to maintain roadway or something along those lines) after receiving a warning not to leave the road.

And now you're complaining? You should feel glad you got away with them and next time don't do in plain sight what the cops said you shouldn't.

Where are our LEOs? One of them should write you a ticket. :D

Darn kids. Stay off my lawn.

Oh don't give me that...I'm not talking about legality here, I'm talking about morality.

Our legal system is so f*cked up here in the US that somebody can sue you for breaking their ankle in your dark house while committing breaking and entering and burglary. Either stand by the law, or sit back and criticize it's flaws...which is what I am doing here.

The morality issue here is, the OC Sheriffs dept is bored. 3 of the cities in this county have held the title for safest city in the US. With crime rates so low and SO many LEO's lurking the streets, they find ways to make their shifts interesting, and that's by harassing people who are clearly not doing anything wrong, then being rude about it when they realize that they made a mistake. Each time a cop gives me lip, I ask for his business card and his supervisors phone number, I ask for his badge number, then I ask for him to radio his supervisor to come to the scene. Each time I've asked them (within my rights as a citizen), they let me off with nothing. Why? Because they know they're not serving or protecting their citizens by doing these things.

I've dealt with so many cops around here and 90% of them are the typical donut eaters who spend 2 hours in a gas station drinking coffee and talking about their "busts". I've NEVER seen somebody get pulled over by ONE sheriff, it's ALWAYS two or more...and when something actually happens (I witnessed two people get stabbed to death at a restaurant), they all show up one after another, and spend the rest of the night joking and laughing among themselves behind the yellow tape.

I have no sympathy for cops who were bullied as kids and are now trying to get their revenge.

youre a huge douchebag for this. first cop stopped you for having no plates, ANY cop would do that, he walked away when you showed him the temp reg.. BFD, that happens everyday. we dont look in the windhshield for a registration. then you go to "off road dirt road graded for Honda Civics" and they SPECIFICALLY tell you NOT to go off the road, what do you right in front of them? go off the road. thats irritating as shit. when you tell someone dont do this, and they fuckin do it right in front of you. blatantly because you wanted to TRY the trail... who the fuck cares what the cops watching me just told me.. dude grow the fuck up, if you had to deal with half the shit this job entails youd find every reason to laugh and put a smile on your face no matter where you are, especially "behind the yellow tape." like its a fucking movie.... sure there is down time in this profession but that doesnt mean we have nothing to do and are just finding ways to make our shifts interesting by harassing people... if we did that we wouldnt have jobs bc someone would fire us, dumbass. you have no idea what youre talking about and youre irritated so before you run your mouth, think about what youre saying. if you had to be trained on how to take a bullet and get shit on by everyone everyday for 15 bucks an hour youd have a whole new perspective. so before you throw a hissy fit because you didnt get your way why dont you listen to someone and not be a total dink. morality is not legality, we all know that, and we all know the legal system is fucked up, you dont have to remind us. were enforcing laws that matter, not stupid laws like in NC where you can marry your cousin but NOT your gay cousin. thats stupid shit. but when your truck has no plates on it, and you get stopped, show the temp tag and everythings fine. we dont have night vision eyes. and when someone tells you DONT do this, DONT FUCKING DO IT RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!

MMMMMMMMMMMMM dealing with so many cops as you say leaves me to believe your a trouble maker or you try to walk just on the other side of the line just enough to jump back over and then complain about it.
As far as no sympathy remark. They are human. some good, some bad.
But i don't think you care about that. If 90% were as bad as you say then just move.

I think you should reevaluate your thinking a little.

It's very clear you have ZERO idea about what cops ACTUALLY do

Traffic enforcement (or harassing people as you called it) is not "just a way to make shifts interesting...and just bc you get let off with a warning because you asked for a supervisor doesn't mean they were wrong

You wanna know why your cities have such low crime rates? Because your cops are out there watching people, stopping cars and making a difference

And this whole part about "clearly not doing anything wrong"

When I stop a car..I don't have a clue who's in that car...and I don't have a clue what they're up to...and you get 2+ officers on a stop because there are dirtbags out there of every size, shape, color, gender etc in all different makes/models/ages of vehicles who will gladly pop one of us if given the opportunity...we're going to go home at the end of shift...period

    With that being said...thread closed
