I am new to this site and haven't seen this posted, so here goes. I have a 08 dbl cab 4x4 w/16" factory steel wheels. I have been shopping around for some wheels & tires for about 2 wks. I am thinking about going with a factory toyota wheel but I am still undecided. I really like some of the fj wheels but I think there may be a problem with rubbing. I don't want to put a lift on just yet. I was wondering if anyone was running these wheels and if they had any problems? My truck is silver with the black fender flares and I would like to see other pics of upgraded models like this.

ben, those wheels also come on the Rugged Trail O/R Tacos.

I am pretty sure they call that wheel that Mike has on his truck the "baja".

I have them but havnt put them on my truck. The rubbing depends on the size of the tire, not the wheel

I thought that the offset was different on the fj's and it would require a spacer.

I have FJ wheels on my truck and there is no rubbing at all. Tire size is 265/70/17. I think the offset was 1/4" less than the stock steelies I had so these wheels are slightly farther away from the brakes, uca's etc.

I am running 17" FJ alloy wheels with 265/70/17 Bridgestone Duelers I haven't had any rubbing issues. Also running stock suspension (2002 4X4, Double Cab, TRD) They are an inch larger diameter than the stock size (265/70/16) so the speedo will read about 2-3 MPH slower than actual speed.

Here are the wheel spec's for both the TRD Tacoma alloy wheels and all the "16 FJ TRD alloy wheels.

    TRD Off-Road wheels are: 16X7JJ / 5.25 backspacing / 32 mm Offset with a 6X5.5 bolt pattern.

    All 16" FJ alloy wheels are: 16X7.5 / 15 mm Offset / 4.5" backspacing with a 6X5.5 bolt pattern.

    16" FJ wheel part numbers:

    PT904-35070 - Silver
    PT904-35071 - Gray Gunmetal
    PTR20-35080 - Matte Black

    No wheel spacers necessary.

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
I've got the anthracite FJs. They're 16x7.5 with 4.5 BS with 285s mounted. No spacers required.

    Hope this helps.

The FJ wheels come in 16" & 17", so be careful what you buy.

    The 16" are a 5-spoke, and the 17" are 6-spoke.

I just put a set of 17" 6-spoke FJ wheels on my 08 Sport 4 x 4 DC with the OEM 165/70R17 tires. They fit prefectly. No rubbing. With the whells turned all the way there is about 3/4" clearance between the tire and the inner fender skirt.

OK, I stand corrected. Maybe we are talking about 2 different styles of the 6-spoke.
