what oil filter??

    i change my own oil and i have been using the toyota oil filter....i was just wondering what other oil filters are good.... or should i just stick with the toyota one.

    White Head Light mod, White shorty antennae, Doug Thorley Long Tube headers, AFE Drop in air filter, Secondary Air Filter Removed,
    toyota is one of the best, there have been tons of threads discussing the pro and cons, if someone wants to dig one up let them but just search for it and you will find it. To recap, some of the good ones are mobile1, napap gold, etc. People tend to stay away from fram just because of the construction (Cardboard) but then again people have used them forever without any issues

    do you use mobil 1 full syn?? ive heard good things about that stuff....my dad puts it in all his vehicles. im not real smart when it comes to mess like this( sorry again for diggin up a old thread)

    oh yeah....i use mobil1 in my engine,transfer case and diffs, and i use it in the wifes accord too. if i cant find m1(like this past summer when there was a shortage), i run pennzoil platinum....good stuff too.

    My truck also has a M1 filter on it right now. They're pretty expensive (around $11 I think..) Next oil change I'll probably look for a Wix as they're like half the price, and all I've heard are good things about them.

    OEM, Wix or Napa Gold would be the only filters I would use.

    They make some of the best filters there is. Everyone speaks so highly of the Napa Gold filters, those are made by Wix.

    I don't think there is the need to buy TOP of the line MOBIL oil filter.
    If you change them out every oil change per say 3k miles. The motor will be happy.
    Also don't buy Fram oil filter. I've read a test somewhere way back in 04. They are the WORST filters made.

    when i bought the truck it had a K&N on it. so i just stuck with it.
