explain please to a noob . my plan is to get the defined SUA kit, down the line, and possibly another shock with more travel(i.e. bedcage), but that is WAY down the line.

edit: derp. I guess nofords explained it. so, because the rear end is light, compared to the fronts, that makes it harder to tune?

Rear skips a lot and bucks/bottoms out easily! The 2.5" shock with extra oil and valving will help big time but a compression adjusted would help to dial in what comfort you want.....soft/firm etc! Otherwise you'd have to revalve it if you needed it tweaked!

This can be done with the GB too? OP was rude when I was inquiring about these but my rear AP's would fit these perfect!

Marco, could I get the 2.5" rear icons build to these specs?

Yes, ICON has an almost identical spec for their 2.5" rear "lifted" app.

if you run the kings at 2.25" to minimize preload but use the toytec top plate spacer (3/4" lift for 3" total) will the ride be smooth or will it still be somewhat harsh?

Would be smooth but you're messing with the geometry in which they were designed. You're essentially pushing the coilovers down that amount and could f up your upper/ lower ball joints, cv's etc! Just trim the shit out of your wheel wells if your running a large tire.......what the guys with 35's do!

so when measuring a shock with a eye bolt hole on top, the measurement is taken from eye to eye. What about a stem top shock? Eye to top of the stem or eye to the actual mounting point on the shock tower?

Alright looks like I'm in for front and rear shocks. No compression adjuster or anything fancy, just the (25001-119 & 25001-121) set with a #700 spring. Unless I should stick with the standard spring as I only have a plate bumper and skids, no winch yet.
