Tried a search and didn't find any similar probs so i am asking everyone what the hells going on with my truck?
Probably 75% of the time i stop at a red light after sitting there for maybe
5 - 10 seconds the truck seems to want to take off. It jerks forward a little, most times its pretty mild other times i swear if my foot wasnt on the brake i'd roll forward 2ft. It happened the other morning so bad that i swore the woman in the Honda behind me hit my truck !

Any i deas ?? Is this a delayed downshift once the truck stops ??

    Double cab = automatic.

Its a known issue, it happens, something to do with the vaccuum system. You'll get used to it. Research 'tacoma lurch'. For now just keep a firm foot on the brake.

    ^This.

It can be pretty powerful. Just keep a firm foot as was mentioned and you'll be fine. Mine does it all the time. Get bigger tires and it'll bug you less. :p

FWIW , the AC compressor will cycle when either of the defrost settings is selected as well .

Oh my god. I thought I was crazy when this kept happening to me. I chalked it up to me being unused to the pressure needed to hold the brakes down when stopped briefly at a red light. I thought "oh I'm used to another car still, I must be holding it right at the edge of where it'll hold, then I unconsciously lift my foot a tad and it slips forward." NOW I KNOW! Thanks guys :D

    With great insights like:

    " Cool. Another one of these.[IMG] "

    " Search....Normal....Thank you....Goodbye. "

" I'm sure you could have asked in the other thread you made. "

Didnt use the words " Lurch " or " Surge " apparently thats what everyone is calling the problem...not knowing what it was made that part tricky.
Anyway thanks for chipping in OZ-T...your doing great buddy ! A few more useful posts like that and you might bring your post count up to 30,000 too !
