yeah, it's pretty similar to yours so if you have any questions let me know. The manual is a good tool to have as well.

What lenses did you get with it? just the 18-55?

Anyone know why some waterdrops come out hazy and others come out clear? This is a really wierd phenomenon I'm seeing today.... I'm wondering if its because since the drop hasn't fallen, the surface tension is 'stretching' until it goes..... and then its crystal clear. I don't know why my pics don't get along with TW btw, its botched from JPG compression.

well I recommend the 55-250 for a nice reasonably priced telephoto. My next lens will be a 50mm prime though.

Others from the same session. Each one I'm chosing a different color filter.

The faucet is my background :D You'll need a good macro lens. I am LOVING this one I just picked up for cheap from craigslist. I have a Sigma 70-300 macro that I picked up for 50 bucks that is 'okay' but the image quality isn't that great, and its only 1:2 macro. The 50mm is 1:1 To offset the 1:2, I purchased a set of extension tubes from ebay for 7 bucks. The image quality isn't nearly as good, but it does the job. Here is one from the 70-300.

Macro photography isn't as easy at it looks, the depth of field is hard to get used to. As you can see in this photo, the depth of field is less than ~1/8th of an inch. You can offset by stopping down the shutter, but you really need to crank the ISO up to compensate, especially when the subject is dynamic. I think I shot this at ISO 1600, 300mm, F/4.5, 1/1000s however with the tubes its probably closer to F/8. With my setup, everything is manual focus btw.
