Hi all just wanted to say hi from buffalo. I have 2012 ex cab 4x4 plain jane. I want to do some small changes as my budget allows me too. So far, K/N air filter and silver star lights. So much work to be done. I want a cover of some sort and better wheels and tires by winter. Also planning TRD exhaust. I love this truck. I had to drive a ford fusion for 1 year after my devorse. That sucked but life is looking up. What are some must do's to this brand new almost untouched truck?

Is dual exhaust possible on the 2012 4.0? I'm surprised it wasn't standard. That's an extra 8-10 HP right there.

Dual exhaust wouldn't get extra HP?

Something about back pressure and scavenging. Also, exhausts and intakes do little for our truck unless you tune. Examples like flow masters actually hurt power except in the very high rpm range.

Do a search on it. I would link you but I dont know how on this kindal thing.

Interesting. I'll check it out. Nevertheless, I'm surprised Toyota didn't add dual exhaust for all these years. And rear disc brakes. I guess they want you to buy the Tundra or the 4runner.

Welcome. Just search and browse. It also depends on what you will be using your truck for.

Welcome to TacomaWorld. I'm fairly new here too but i'll warn you, this site is very addictive (and so are Taco upgrades). Some mods are quite expensive and some aren't at all so before you do a major anything, stop and think on it for awhile. I almost bought wheels that i now hate, glad i waited and looked around some. Could have been a costly mistake.

My advice is get some opinions, do some homework and, most of all, do what YOU want to do to YOUR truck. You'll love it more every time you do.

Thanks BoDz. I appreciate it. This is my DD and I want to trick it out slowly. My first mod will be a cover for the bed, so I can store gear. Second will be TRD exhaust, and third will be wheels and tires.

Does a TRD exhaust increase HP on a 4.0? I'm looking for anything that increases the HP and torque on the 4.0.

Good call. Take your time, educated decisions are always best. If i could make a recommendation, look into the box divider that Toyota sells. It's handy as hell, has a mesh screen to tie stuff to, installs and removes easily, can be easily adjusted for position and keeps stuff from sliding around too much inside BUT they are crazy expensive. (hence why you see very few of them out there or even talked about) If you are interested, keep your eyes open for a used one, I love mine. Checkout my photos for a pic with the tri-fold tonneau over top.
