Nice and quiet on the road. Smooth ride. As good or better than the factory Dunlops. Haven't really had experience off road so can't say for that. Heard they suck in the snow but I don't have to worry about that very much.

33/12.5R17 BFG at on the truck in the pick wore down fast as hell coming up and down the mountain and did not do well in the snow and 35/12.5R17 in the bed that are now on the truck have barely any wear after about 7k miles and i love them in the snow and dirt. i dont know if i will buy a new set of generals after these just cause of the high price tag but if i can find another set like these used for cheap again i will defiantly jump on it these were $500 for all counting the spare

285/70/17 on a 7.5" wide wheel. The most streetable MT I've ever encountered; low noise/vibration, good wear. Fantastic in the rocks, dirt, mixed terrain. As good as anyone else in mud, sand. Don't like snow and ice much.

I've beaten the shit out of them and only lost one to a sidewall puncture at this point (2ish years of use). Wheeling buddies running other tires have had about the same level of carnage. I'd wager they're as strong as anyone else out there in their class as well.

Awesome off road, Little noisy on road. These tires seriously kick @ss off road! Wish they had a 285/75/17! I'm selling these beginning of june because I need a taller tire. But I would recommend these any day to anyone who wants excellent off road capabilities!

Pro's- Best off road tire I've ever owned
    Look Awesome
    They're Mickey Thompsons!

    Cons- Bit pricey

Just curious, what didn't you like about the ATRs? I have the Hankook Dynapros now, but I did have ATRs on my '05 and thought they were fine.

I bought my truck used with 37k miles on it with the coopers installed. They had some usable tread but it was like I was running on slicks. Anywhere besides dry pavement and I would slide everywhere. I got a nail in one at 45k and I got the hankooks. They had a drone at highway speeds(but that might have been a wheel weight issue). I don't know, I think I might have got a bad batch because everyone else raves about them but I couldn't recommend them.

Goodyear Silent Armor 275/270r/17, right at a 32x11, on a stock TRD sport. Nice tire, quiet, good traction on and off road. A little heavy for a C load range tire, but they are said to be very puncture resistant. Even made the speedo closer to actual road speed, mine always read about 2mph slow.

For those of you with 255/85/16's - how do they fit with stock suspension?? Can you run them without any rubbing? Or do you need to lift it an inch or so? I ask because I like the look of the bigger tires but I dont care about the width too much... and I dont plan on lifting anytime soon. I know 265/75/16's are the 'biggest" tire I can get without any other modifications and no rubbing.

Also what kind of tire in 255/85/16 or 265/75/16 do people recommend for 95% on-pavement driving and excellent wet-weather performance? I'm looking for smooth, quiet, durable but tough-looking, and wont shed a tear if I take it off the pavement once in a while. Any suggestions?

I would recommend duratracs, I never had them but I hear alot of people have them and like them. I am sure some would disagree with this statement but I hear more positive then negative comments on them.

285 70 17 Duratracs on stock Sport rims with 1 1/4" spacer. I've run alot of excellent AT's and these are the BEST all around tire I've owned. By far the best snowtire of the bunch too.

I have almost 29,000 miles on them now and expect I could get another 10,000 easy. By the end of summer I will be there.

I will buy another set of these for the coming winter.

The only two downsides I can see are 1. they are kind of expensive. Pushing $300 hurts my poor-white-trash wallet, and 2. One of them was hard to balance though after a couple tries the shop got it!:D I've heard this complaint elsewhere too.

    Again...I will buy these again!

I know, not great pics, but I don't own a depth gauge and didn't have a coin on me:eek:, but the tread is just shy of a 1/4" right now. Still good for on and off road, but I don't think I'll get another winter out of them.
