I'm looking to renew my insurance policy at the end of Feb. Right now I am with Progressive. My monthly rate is 156.00 .. I have a clean driving record, no accidents or tickets ever. I am in my 30's, and single. I know Insurance rates very depending on where you live, what type of coverage, tickets, accidents, claims,etc..I have the rate that progressive reccomends for where I live with a 500.00 deductible. My question is when shopping around for your Taco insurance who did you find to be the best insurance company for you?

to many variables like you mentioned... I change companies approx every 4 years... they bring you in low then creep your rate up... started at state farm.. went many others, now I'm back...funny how they can lower your rate as a new customer, but could give a rats azz if you have been with them awhile:rolleyes:
I would shop around and deal like you do with purchasing the truck...lie and say you can get it cheaper down the street... you will find agents for the same provider (ie;state farm) that will give you different rates based on how many deals they wanna pull off that month

Nationwide for me but, like you said, it varies state to state. Full coverage for me in SC is under $800/year but I also have homeowners through them so I get a discount. Just shop around.

I don't mean to be rude, but it doesn't really matter where other people are finding the lower rates. Just because a certain company has a lower rate in a certain area, doesn't mean they will have the lowest rate in your area. Best thing for you is to shop around and call all the insurance guys in your area, and don't really worry about what others in different areas are paying.

I've been with State Farm for about 10 years now, and I've loved it. My rates have never went up, and I've gotten all kinds of discounts with them. I've got three cars insured with them now, and I've already gotten a rate quote for my Tacoma (that I haven't purchased yet).

After 10 yrs with Allstate, I switched to Geico. My rate dropped 40%, exactly like the commercial. Go figure.

My sled which is worth 4 times less, use only a few weekends during 3 months of a year, cost the nearly same as the truck, really go figure.

I tried to get a rate quote from Geico, and my rates would've went up 30%. That's why I'm still with State Farm. In fact, no other insurace company can beat the rate that I'm getting now.

I'm with USAA and I doubt mine is the lowest, but I enjoy their service. I pay $107/month.

If I remeber right, tell me if I am wrong but USAA insurance is for someone who is military isn't it?..You are all right!..To many variables makes it very difficult to pinpoint a rate. I know one of the reasons why I think my rate is high is I live in So Cal ..land of uninsured driver. I was just curious what others were paying every 6 months or by the year!...And I will not lie to the insurance company down the street and say I can get it lower another place unless I have it in writing!..Karma is a bitch!

Yes military. I'm USAA too & with everything wrapped up (house, truck, toys) in one policy its hard to give you a real number. The guys idea on shopping around in your area is the best suggestion. Buying a house or getting married only may make your rate go down but boy will hit your wallet and then some. :p Good Luck

USAA is also for adult children of USAA members, which is where I fit in.

Keep in mind while shopping that customer service should also be a priority. For example, I was with Allstate for 13 years and found out what a turd they were after I was hit from behind while stopped at a stoplight. Ended up going with State Farm where the actual agent was the turd (rates went up each month for 5 months and couldn't explain it) and finally went with Nationwide who I've been with for 5 years now with a great agent and decent customer service from the company itself.

I guess the moral of the story is: Cheaper doesn't equate to "better".
