I wouldn't go smaller then 17's just because I heard some lifts dont work with smaller rims. I think its the spindle lifts but I'm not 100% sure. Later on down the road I dont want to have to buy bigger rims if I decide to install a new lift.

I was torn with this same question until I went to the local tire shop and priced it out. I wanted the DC1's wrapped in DC Radial FC II's. When the final tally was added up, the guy quoted me $3000!!!!!!!!!! The rims were about $350 each and the tires $400!!!!!

Needless to say I've chosen a different rim, still looking for a tire, and I am looking for another shop!

There really isn't much difference in appearance between a 16" vs 17" to the eye... It's when you get into 18" or bigger that you really notice more wheel...

Personally I have 16's with stock tires, no lift. I'm saving up to put 17's with some Goodyear duratracs. I do also believe in more tire than wheel, but I think 17's are a good balance. Not too big and not too small. My philosophy - If your going to spend money on nice rims you want them big enough for everyone to see you spent money, but not too big where it seems obnoxious. Hope this helps.

I think the same way. But from the pictures that I've seen, the 18's with 33's seem to have the perfect ratio of rim size to tire size. Not too big and not too small. I donno, maybe I need to see them in person. But 16's are way too small in my opinion. I'd go 17 or 18, likely 18's.

I too went round and round for a while but have finally committed and ordered 16" ProComp 7089s
I will probably go for a 32 sized tire.
I do have the Toytec Ultimate lift kit with AllPro uca's.
I ultimately chose 16's cause there is plenty to choose from in tires. Also spending up to a grand every time I need tires is not a good option. Being in Hawaii (The Big Island) there is no bargain on tires.
I do not have enough money to buy wheels and tires so I can swap out the wheels now and upgrade the tires when my "Wugged Twails" wear out.
I'd like to keep the clearance when offroading that I lifted my truck for.
    Just my 2 cents.
I'll post up when the wheels are mounted.

16's tires and wheels are both less expensive that way. more rubber the better for offroading...if your truck sees dirt
