Are you sticking with the original plan of mounting the CleanSweep in the glove box? Just curious, as it doesn't have any controls on it, like your original purchase, so no adjusting the EQ at all. I would think mounting it behind the deck would make for a cleaner install. Just wondering which way you're headed. Install looks good so far.

aside from the ability to "fine tune" the signal before the speakers get the message, are there other advantages to the Cleensweep?

I just found another thread (Silverbullets) where he used a RCA converter to wire up aftermarket gear to the stock H/U.

My budget is a little tight....so if i could eliminate a DSP, i might....but then again, i may just cry once and get the DSP up front. I know I am keeping my stock h/u as i dont even want to mess with the xm antenna, steering wheel controls and bluetooth buttons.

    your thoughts?

I think if you're having second thoughts, don't do it. Go for something bigger. I don't think recording will help, but how about this??? If you are listening to Yes, orAC/DC, it should be fine. If it's Ludacris, Busta, Dre, crystal method, lords of acid, then no. It will vibrate the rear view, but you won't feel it in your chest. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Cleensweep is going in the glovebox. Unfortunately I already had all the speaker wires and RCAs run there. I would rather hide it permanently, but that would mean taking everything apart again. I already have to remove one RCA and run it from the amp to the sub since the JL only has two outs. I need another full day in the garage to "re fix" everything. Hopefully soon, but I have my own business that takes a lot of time, and a 13 y/o lab that has seizures and needs constant watching.

The Cleensweep volume seems to work well. No more using the volume on the head or the steering wheel. The other wheel controls work fine.

Sucks. Had to tear out the rear storage bins, passenger side interior, ANC glovebox to rerun wires, remove one RCA, move it to between amp and sub instead of converter to sun. Tons of work for one little item. Hoping to actually tune it soon, but five hours was enough last night

Will be doing something similar in the next month or so, keeping the HU and going all in on the rest....thanks for the inspiration, I actually like the look and functionality of the HU.

I am near deaf after my 500 mile trip
to Boston and back yesterday. A little more tuning and I should be really happy with the whole system.

So, what settings did you come up with on the sub?

I think you just may have helped me make a final decision. I was back and forth between new hu or a DSP. But I don't like the idea of losing volume control through the stereo itself. Bummer cuz I really like the factory look as well.

Understand. For me, it's change Pandora on the iPod, adjust volume with my right hand from Clernsweep, the adjust bass on my left hand from SO sub. Just a bit much. I may keep my eyes open for a killer deal on a head.

Crap now I'm torn. I just picked up the Taco yesterday, and I really like the look of the factory radio. Only thing is I wish it had HD. But now I'm debating keeping HU and going the sound processor route link you. Dammit. Really don't want to have to install a separate volume knob tho.

It is much more work than swapping head units.

I'm sure. We'll see how I feel in a few months when the free XM runs out.

    Hey CantSitStill,

Sorry to hear about this issues you encountered during your install with the LCQ-1. This is the first integration issue I have heard of on this piece. I would like to discuss this with you so we can keep this from happening in the future.

Glad to hear the CleanSweep worked for you! CleanSweep for the win!

I will PM you my Contact info, and you can contact me if you like. I would like to get some more info from you on the system and discuss some different control options with you new setup.

    Thanks!

Will do, got your PM. I would love to do something different. The Cleensweep is fine, but I hate the extra volume and the level for the phone is much lower than the other features, so you have to remember to turn the volume down right at the end of your phone call or the music will make you hit the roof when it comes back on.

    Love Crutchfield!!!! You guys rock!

I guess the '11 kit is close, but I was assured that if I am not happy with the fit, they will replace it when the '12 is available. Love Crutchfield. If I was in VA, I would be applying for a job!
