I mean, it's pretty much an HPI at a discounted price, no? What's the difference?

You may want to order direct from them, seems it has a self life, and there is no way of knowing how long A-Main has had there product sitting in a warehouse. Just saying, this is straight from Sugru web site.

    Shelf life
sugru will stay fresh for 6 months from the date you receive it. If you use it within its date, the cured sugru will last and last. (You’ll find a Use By date on the back of each individual minipack). PRO TIP: If you keep sugru in the fridge, you can increase its shelf life by up to 2X!

    What's up guys?

So i have been kinda stalking this thread and read it all the way through. I must say it's kinda peaked my interest again in this hobby. I started out with an airplane @ 14 years old, then went on to Nitro off road cars.

My last nitro car has been sitting in storage for the last 10 years (have to dig it out tomorrow).

So it's been sometime for me. I got the car Europe. I heard that European radios won't work here in the states. Anyone know if that is true?

Looking for some input. I would like to go to electric short course this time. Nitro is a lot of fun. But it's way to messy. I would basically starting from scratch on everything but tools.

Looking for something to take with me on the trails and bash around.

What company and what truck would you go with?

    Thanks for the help!

Welcome back to the hobby :D

If your just looking to bash around its hard to beat traxxas, they dont have a good rep when it comes to racing but you can beat the hell out of a slash and it will keep on going.

Id say get a slash 4x4, a fan for the esc and a heatsink for the motor, throw a 2s or 3s lipo in it and have fun.

    Thanks man!

I have been kinda eye that one. Seems to be a lot of parts available for it.

I don't know how much racing I would actually do. Not whole lot I would guess.

    Thanks for the input!

What about chargers? Any advice on those?

Yeah there are tons of parts for traxxas products and most shops carry them which is another plus.

Im not sure on chargers, there are so many out there that work just fine, I personally use a thunder AC6, you can find them for about $45.

I'd say this is some great information. I've never owned a Traxxas model, but word of mouth is there tough as nails, and parts are everywhere. Rumor is Walmart is considering carrying the brand. When you get tired of running around on the local baseball field, take a hard look at Associated, Losi, Durango, Serpent, Ofna and a few more when your ready to take it up a notch.
