So how would you chose a dual rate spring when you are running a bypass that Is tuned say like Blackhawke250. I assume you have to find the right spring rate to compliment your bypass valving

axle is 3.150" in Diameter and 9/16" is the norm . 5/8" wont fit in most high clearance u-bolt plates

That could have been soooo bad! If it would have happened on freeway at speed

I think all it cost him was a tow, 4 bolts, and a new set of fenders...could have cost a truck or more, so all in all I bet he was glad to find out this way instead of alternative :)

the example on my truck is on the rear with leaf springs, with leafs u leave the rebound wide open so that the axle drops out as fast as possible in the air. if your running coil-overs in conjunction u need to stiffen up the rebound because the coil-over wants to push down and so the rebound keeps it in check so it doesn't drop out to fast. linked trucks or front end set ups with coilovers and a secondary shock do this. Rule of thumb is to have the bypass shock do 65% of the work and the coil over do 35% ect. bypasses can be tuned in easily and so u want them to do the majority of the work because u can adjust them much more accurately and have your ride soot you best. but yes u would want to find correct spring rates and valving for both shocks, u can call whatever company shock u have and they can probably get u in the right ball park and u adjust your valving from there

Mike you see the pics I posted of the Long Beach Racers Tacoma? A lot of weird and strange shit going on.

What's with the lack of bumps stops in the front and rear, and the bent frame where the axle was slamming into the frame?

    kinda like this...

    WidebodyTacoma_843ee9ee7398f7d96b0787a9334282e59f9b326b.jpg

nah, i wasn't all that sad... i actually got out of my truck laughing because a speed bump fucking owned me big time. i was more pissed about my freshly painted fenders getting muffed up than pissed about the truck breaking.

like cory said, it could have easily been much worse... less than 10 min before that i was on the freeway going 70+ MPH... i was thankful it happened when it did
