For lift: go OME 885 coils with trim packer on drivers side with dakar leafs and 3* shims. 265 tires or 285s if you want to do a little trimming and I would recommend a regear with 285s but not needed. Billies are good too with an AAL and will look better if you want to run 265s

Man youve done a good amount of mods. I like the 110 inside. I plan to do that one too. your truck looks great! so have you decided which suspension you will get? I cant decide. I like the Icon, but you really save alot with the ome. you will get the 886? I asked another guy that had the 886 and he says he loves the ride he gets with them. I asked how they articulate, but he didnt respond to that part. have you heard anything on that?

 

Hey what do you think of the entune? My phone always stays connected for making calls, but i always have to go and reconnect the music part. plus when i am using the bluetooth the voice has a fuzzy sound that seems to echo the persons voice.

 

Well, I've been looking at Icon and after talking to the Icon reps this weekend at Overland Expo, I'm pretty sure thats the way I'm gonna go. It's a lot of money, but I think well worth it.

I LOVE the Entune personally. My iPhone has no problems, so long as I am connected via USB. No problems with call quality at all for me.

I used some aluminum stock/strip metal from Homedepot and the Life proof holster I bought from Best Buy. All I did was bend up the aluminum at the angle I wanted, to make the bracket. Then, I used the Life proof holster/belt clip, but just didn't install the actual belt clip components, used a washer, nut and bolt and drilled a hole in the bracket I bent up. then I just used velcro to secure it to the shifter bezel. I also made one for my Kawasaki Ninja. FYI, on the life proof holster, if you want to be able to open the port access door on the case, while in the holster, you have to dremel some of the bottom of the holster so the port door on the case can open.

 

Thanks a lot for the information. I'm going to see if I can do something similar with my otter box defender series case and belt clip since the life proof cases are a little pricey.

 

You mean something like this? I had an otterbox defender before my Lifeproof. I picked up the life proof case and the belt holster at a gun show brand new for $75. They guy sold them discounted because the outside packaging had been squished, but case was fine. Then I went to Best Buy and bought an extra belt holster to use on my motorcycle. I own 2 belt holsters and neither are used on a belt

Hardest part is removing the swivel mount from the holster. If you want, I have an extra otterbox holster I could drop in the mail for you tomorrow. It already has the swivel mount removed and is ready to mount. Unless, you're impatient like me and just want to do it all on your own this weekend with your own holster. If you just want to use your own holster, here's my recommendations. Remove the swivel mount first. Take the holster (w/the swivel mount now removed) with you to Home deopt and find a washer that fits perfectly into the recessed hole that is now in the middle of the holster. Also, look for a low profile (maybe button style) head bolt. Otherwise, if you use a standard bolt to mount the holster to the bracket, you'll need to grind down the head a lil (like I did) so the phone, w/the otterbox case, will still fit in the holster without the head of the bolt grinding a hole in the back of your rubber sleeve (ask me how I learned that lesson)

 

I was just looking at that and trying to figure it out without breaking it. If you don't mind shipping it that would be great, I really would appreciate it. I'll PM you my mailing address. I'm not in a rush, I have my front torn apart for my headlights that are being retrofitted, so it's parked in the garage until I get my headlights back.

How did you run that cable under your console, I like the clean look. I'm assuming you just removed the console and ran it to the outlet. I have the entune system as well and I use pandora a lot so my phone is used a lot in my truck.

 

Needle nose pliers, and fyi you have to permanently break the swivel mount to remove it. I'll mail it out tomorrow. You do have the Otterbox defender for the iPhone 4/4s right, not the 3G/3GS? My case is the iPhone 4/4s. Yeah I ran the USB cable from the plug, pulled up the front cup holder in front of shifter and pulled up the shifter bezel, ran the cable through the cup holder hole, under the shifter bezel and up the backside of the bezel, then put the cup holder and bezel back. I'll run out side and snag a pic for you. The other pics I just posted were of my 09 that had the USA Spec PA15-TOY and that was the iPhone interface cable for it.

 

Oh ok, yeah I have the iPhone 4s. Seems simple enough to run it that way, I'll give it a try once I have everything together. Did you use that same cable from your 09? I have a pioneer cable, not sure the model but it has the USB, aux, and then the iPhone plug end, it's fairly long. Again, I really appreciate the pics, references and you sending me the belt clip case. I have a lot of future plans for my 12' and I like some of the customizations you did.

 

No the cable from my 09 was proprietary to the USA Spec PA15-TOY interface. I just picked up a plain old black Scosche brand cable at the dealership when I bought the truck, I had them throw it in the deal along with a couple other small accessories.

 

Oh ok, I didn't know they carried that stuff.

 

I need to paint the bolt and the washer black, to help it blend and maybe the aluminum piece just behind the holster mount.

Cool man. Good luck. Its easier then it looks. Now that you don't have to mod the holster, the hardest part is bending the aluminum to just the right angle you want. Also, by the way, notice how long I made the lower portion of the bracket. The first bracket I made, the lower part that velcros to the dash, was too short. So when I would push icons on the phone screen the bracket was too top heavy and would want to tip forward. Extra length on lower piece = better support.
