2000 Tacoma ext cab v6 auto blown engine

Selling my 2000 Tacoma Black extended cab v6 automatic prerunner with almost 200k miles for $5k OBO and be realistic. Unfortunately the engine lost a piston rod and I think the engine is done but there are used engines on craigslist and ebay for around $1500. Truck comes with Fabtech Dirt Logic 2.5, front hid headlights, drilled and slotted front discs, bed extender, Rear has air bags for towing, all terrain tires, and upgraded speakers, tow package. I know Im probably missing things to. Truck does need registration and smog but that will be easy once a new engine is put in. Bought a new tacoma so dont need this one which sucks because it was my baby and and very well taken care of. Thank you

Fair condition for a running vehicle is $4900 on kbb if you are willing to come down on the price I would be interested. Do you have any pics of the truck? Did the piston come out of the block or is it just making noise? Do you have service records for the truck?

 

Here is one pic that I have on my computer. Yes I really wanted to fix it myself but i cant work on cars in my neighborhood and its not worth sending it to a shop to get fixed. I will try to get more pics up tomorrow. It did bust a hole in the block and i can see where it came off the crankshaft but the engine does still turn over. In my area (orange county, ca) this truck goes for almost 9k on craigslist and engines sell for around $1500 so I decided to drop a few to pay for the engine and time. Also I am open to best offers

If it was local to me, I would pay about 3k for it. Since it is on the other side of the country, I got 2k for it. (shipping is $1400)

 

you do realize this is for a truck that can be driven home so i would go ahead and subtract the $1500 for the motor + $500 in labor to get it in there. i would give $3500 for the truck maybe *maybe* $4000 if everything else was perfect.

 

plus it is an automatic and a prerunner...that hurts!

Don't come across as jerks, guys. Its listed for $5K OBO and its his truck. He can advertise it for whatever he wants. If you don't like the price, that's fine, you can always move on to another truck.
