So Joe came over this evening and took a look at the truck. We were going to do a compression test on it and when he turned it over, him and his mechanic said it has great compression! The both said it was prolly the fuel pump that was going out. I got the bed off and got access to the fuel pump. I will post pics of it once they upload!

If that's all it was, you're going to be kicking yourself. I hope for your sake that's it though!

Then you can be damn happy to have a great truck, and that your money was well spent. All the stuff you've done so far needed to be done anyway!

Good luck man, got my fingers crossed for ya!

yea your right. Like Bill said, the knock sensor needed to be replaced.
EDIT: I am also happy that the motor has the compression it is suppose to!!!! That means no rebuild!:yay::taco:

    Here they are.
These two bolts are right behind the cab. This is the passenger side. There are two more on the driver side in the same spot, behind the cab.
This bolt is on the back end of the bed. There is one also in the same spot on the drivers side.
This bolt is right above the leaf springs. It's where they are connected to the frame behind the axle...
It is the same bolt taken at different angles
    [IMG]
Here is the bed moved back and off a lil bit.
    Here is the fuel pump!!!
Thanks to JoDog, he probably saved me several hours of cussing and dealing with dropping the tank!!! lol:bowdown:
Taking the bed off with Justin helping me took 30-45 minutes. At the most.

Just curious, did you check the fuel pressure itself? Have you replaced the fuel filter? Make sure you look at that fuel filter while you are changing out your pump.

I was going to replace the fuel filter anyways. When it was replaced, the previous owner put piping tape on it to seal it... The white stuff.....
EDIT: Yes, we cracked the fuel line while Joe was over here and they said it doesn't have the pressure it needs. It drizzled out instead of squirting like its suppose to.

Thanks for suggesting that. Any recommendations on how to get the pump disconnected form
The line and the filter disconnect also. Seeing as how the filter has the plumbers tape on it...

Pictures of the beach and beach babes or it didn't happen!!!

Nope, that is cheating. photo proof of YOU at the beach with hot babes is required. Failure is not an option. You must comply, resistance is futile!
