Stevigee originally posted that the GMC Envoy tent would work with 2nd Gens that have toppers. I'm very happy with it and it was less than $70 to my door from Amazon.

Thanks man. The instructions were crap so it took a while to set it up. I think I can pitch it in less that 15 minutes next time. It was super quick to tear down.

Short bed otherwise I'd just sleep in the bed with the topper closed. With the gate down I fit fine.

Nope but it's basically the inside of your bed looking out with mesh keeping bugs out. There are screens on the sides and the too which should ventilate well.

This is some slick! Would the tent work without the Bestop?

shitty thing about bed tents is that if your hauling any kind of gear like most people do when going camping, you have to pull everything out before you can set up your tent.

I don't think this tent would work without a shell. You'd likely need a soft or hardtop.

Depends on how organized your bed is. I intend to build a platform with plenty of storage beneath. Everything that normally stays inside will continue to do so and be accessible from inside or outside when needed.

Know this thread is a little old, but I just ordered this tent. Looks a little different that the one pictured here (no rain fly).

Thought I would let others know I found it on eBay for $35 which included shipping. Link is:

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/12497935-EN...H_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item43ac4a60dc&vxp=mtr

Figured for the price, I would give it a shot. I have a Softtopper I will be using it with. I plan on camping across country and up into Canada some in a few weeks. Will take pics and write up how it worked out for me.

I do plan to build a platform, if I have time. If not, I will throw down my mat on bed and sleep away. Think it will be ok.

Looks like that is a pretty good deal for a tent. My only issue would be the side of the tent covering the open windows on the side of the topper. Might be able to fix that tho. My gf is actually making a custom tent like that for this weekends wheeling trip. I'll make sure to post pics when she's finished.

$35 shipped - I'm willing to try. Just grabbed one - looks like he's got 8 left listed.

Looks pretty sweet, but I'm curious..... what's the point in the tent if you already have a topper? I just bought a topper partly so I can use it as a tent.

5ft bed and I'm 6'1". I actually never used this because I picked up a RTT shortly after from a friend. This tent works well with a topper and the gate down for those that need more space to stretch out.

I think that's the same one man. Great deal! Setting it up the first time took a little time but it goes up pretty quick. Enjoy!

I'm not seeing how that is. And this thread reminds me to see if the Cabela bed tent I have for my '98 Gen I reg cab with the Leer Hirise will fit on the 2012 with the Leer midrise. Forgot all about that.

Exactly as Woods stated, if you have the Short Bed, it allows you to have the gate down for extra space, but still close up the back end. The other thing it allows is ventilation since my Softtopper does not have zippered windows. So, extra space, air flow and a fair amount of privacy for a little price.

Let you all know how it works...
