02 spark plug change

i'm looking to change the plugs on my base model taco. can anyone help me with this? looks like it might be a pain in the a. are they located under those pink colored clips? will i have to remove a bunch of stuff in order to change them? should i just get a pro to do it?

the link should help alot. I did mine without much automotive know how and came out just fine. Yes the sparkplugs are located under the coilpacks, mine weren't pink however.

 

i think maybe hes talking about the red sticker on the coil packs. Really, the 3.6l V6 is the easiest spark plug change I have ever done, just donnttttttt forget the anti seize, and checking the gap.

 

Do the plugs come pre-size for your truck, I mean, is the gap already set for your truck? Or do you always want to check the gap every time you buy plugs from the dealer or automotive places?

I dont think they come pre gaped. So I would go ahead and check them because its very easy and can save you alot of head aches.

 

I bought all NGK plugs, and they were not pregapped, its real easy to do it tho, it takes a few minutes for all of them

I bought mine from autozone, make sure you get the part number you ask for, the guy at the counter was trying to sell me non-compatible plugs. There is a sticker on the timing belt cover that tells you which type of plug to use, and which on eto not use.

 

The 3.4L V6 5vz-fe uses the dual electrode plugs, use them and don't let the douche behind the counter tell you otherwise. If you don't use the dual electrode plugs your rig will run like crap.

 

There is no such thing as pre gap. they might tell you they are pre gap but check them B4 you install them, 10 out of 10 times they are wrong.
