Adding lift to 3" OME suspension

How can I add lift to my existing OME setup (spindles, etc.)

 

There shouldn't be any reason you can't add spindles if you have a Prerunner. If you're a 4wd, then you're kinda stuck unless you go with a drop bracket lift.

 

what's a good drop bracket lift. I'm having problems finding pics of one.

 

You wanna reduce your ground clearance from where you are now ?

 

ProComp and Fabtech are probably the most popular... Good and drop bracket will get you a lot of mixed opinions on here because they technically reduce your ground clearance.

 

U can run a db stage one lift with ome 885's and 5100's

Yeah, I don't wanna lose ground clearance. I got rid of my drop diff mod, because I almost damaged it. Is there any way to do a spindle lift with additional mods for the CV angle, or do I have to scrap my entire lift for a long-travel kit? And why does a db lift lower my ground clearance? I figured that it would just lift on top of my current clearance height, but I can't find any detailed pics to describe it.

 

If you have a 4wd, you can't do a spindle lift.

Also, before you jump to long travel, they don't necessarily sit up any taller than stock Tacoma, they just have a LOT more travel in the suspension.

A drop bracket lift lowers your ground clearance because you have that big honking drop bracket for the front end hanging down.

If you want more ground clearance, get taller tires.

 

can i use my OME shocks with an All Pro LT kit? and Does anyone know how much long-travel distance the OME shocks provide?

 

Usually long travel has substantially more travel than stock shocks. OME are stock travel shocks. I suppose you could run standard shocks with an LT kit, just not sure why you would...

 

OME is longer than stock travel and will travel as much as any extended travel mid travel coilovers. Most long travel kits require their own coilover shocks. The travel comes from arm length... not shock length. The coilovers they use are often moved outboard to increase the efficiency of the coil springs... thus are longer but the travel is due to arm length.

 

Then why is it OME shocks can be run with stock UCA's without any issues? If they were the same length as extended travel shocks, they'd require a ball joint UCA, or it'd be highly recommended at the very least.

After researching them, Fck DBs. They're like big men w/ little dcks; I don't want my truck to have low self-esteem. Anyway, maybe I could sell my used OME setup some time down the road when I upgrade to long travel.

On that last note, would anyone wanna buy a pair of bumpers (front black, rear chrome) & stock TRD suspension w/ TSB 4-leafers? Front bumper's a little scuffed around the left foglight, and the suspension is 5,000 miles old.
