    Sorry, almost missed this....

    I have the kit 18-135 and a friend loaned me a 70-300. I want to get something in the 400 range for wildlife shots. The camera shop called me and told me that someone traded in a 100-400 L series. I'm debating on getting it. I rented at Sigma 150-500 but that thing was a beast, almost too much to lug around.

    That sounds important! :stirthepot:

    Wildlife, landscapes, macros of Yellowstone....whatever I see when I'm out in the hills really. I have a 55-200 for my Sony and it has served me well but I want bigger. The Sigma lens was alright, I didn't take a ton of pictures with it. And surprisingly I could hold it steady enough to get OK shots, tripod was better or course. Standing 50 yards back from my truck I could zoom in and read the sidewalls on my tires w/o a tripod. The Sigma was 5-6.3 and the Canon lens is 4.5-5.6
