    the matilija falls were a great spot to be able to go and there was no trash or tagging back there... but you can't go back there anymore which sucks big time

    It's about 2 hours to get back there, but almost half the hike is boulder hopping and not on a well designated trail. Sadly, now-a-days the punch bowls are far from pristine.

    I'll PM you some good hikes later this weekend when I'm on a computer

    How do they close places like matilja falls? And I don't know if you know, but are there falls further up from the punch bowls?

    I thought I had heard that there were, but I've only been up there once and never had the chance to go see if there was a nicer spot up further.
