I thought about matte black for a second but this is the reason why I I didn't go for it. In my opinion I think it looks a lot better on sport cars.

Thx dude! It's been more than 3 months since I drove the truck so once I get it back I'm gonna fall in love with my taco again! :D

Lets end the night with some teasers before the final wet sand buff & polish :p

Also just ordered myself an early birthday present. 3-piece T-Rex Polished Mesh Grille. I didn't order the matching bumper piece because I still have to decide if the grille would flow with the new paint color and their shit is pricey!!

Nice I love the color. Would look real good with some nice black wheels, dark tinted windows and dark smoked tails.

thanks man but thats the opposite of what I had in mind. I'm looking to go 35 or 50% tint, keeping the tails clear/red, and some staggered multi-piece 20s with polished face and chrome lip.

I need to get better pics because my phone sucks and for some reason is comes out looking purple or maroon. Here's the best shots I had so far from today. It looks like it will be ready by Friday next week.

oh and here's the t-rex mesh grille I ordered. I'm putting the matching triangle pieces to the side for now until they put everything together and I can decide if it would look good. Once I drill holes I'm gonna have to buy another grille and I don't wanna do that.

That color is sick! Sort of egg plant-ish. I dig it. Not a fan of dropping trucks myself but hey to each his own. And you seem to have done it right! Nice rig!

    Hey thanks man! :)
Clean is the plan for this project taco! All I need now is some nice wheels and maybe a retrofit headlight mod?

Teaser pics is all you guys get for now, until I get this professionally detailed and all the exterior put on and at least a decent camera.

Just wait til my matching t-rex bumper grille is installed! I definitely need to get some wheels at this point since there's more bling now.

It does look somewhat eggplant-ish at some angles in the shade, but I'm really happy how it turned out. I really wanted a nice red paint job but at the same time different from the norm. And thanks ben for the kind compliments!

Here's more teaser pics for you guys keeping up with my slow build. I'm just so glad now I finally got to drive it on the weekend. Everything is pretty much on except the tailgate because of some mishap at the shop but everything's cool now, I should have it installed tomorrow or tuesday. As I mentioned I'm still waiting for my t-rex mesh bumper grille to come in. I waited until they installed the main grille before I made the purchase but now it's on I think it would like sick!

I have the matching triangles but I think I'm going to hold them off for now. I like how it looks without it. What a waste of $100!! :(

What do you guys think of a retrofit for my headlights and keep it clear, instead of the BHLM that everyone's doing?

What about a color matched HLM? I don't think the black would look good ;)

I would not do the BHLM, I would leave them chrome, as it would match the grill and the wheels you are planning on using

I agree (although I don't like chrome, but it's not my truck) that it would be best to leave them chrome to match the wheels and grill.
Second option would be to color match them instead of black.

Color matched HLM does look good but I don't know if the red would though. I think I'll just leave them clear and eventually do a retrofit after getting some wheels.

    I'm with this guy! :D

I also hate chrome but just a little to match up the wheels I have planned would look really clean.

Exactly what the bodyman did at the shop! I'll get some shots of the smooth ass once they finish this up.

Yes, definitely FTW! That was the original plan when I first bought the taco, but my wife has a white corolla and I drive a pearl white honda accord for my daily.

Here's a few shots I took over the weekend. My painter suggested not to wash the vehicle with soap or use any chemicals on the clear coat for at least a month since it is still curing. I went with a PPG Deltron Clear Coat, and it's suppose to be one of the nicest shiny finish. He sprayed down 4 coats of clear so I should be able to wetsand and buff multiple times if I ever need to remove swirl marks in the future.
