    Hi guys,

I was trying to install my bi-xenon H4s today. I can't figure out how to get the dust cover over the new bulb. It's a lot bigger than the stock bulb. I did a bunch of searches and had no luck finding any info on this. Is there a DIY thread on this somewhere that I missed? If not can anyone who figured it out chime in?

    Thanks, Will

You don't want to take off that cover off of the HID bulb. It will blind the heck out of other drivers. Install it with them on.;)

i just installed d2s hid bulbs and to cut the dust covers to get them fit. after seeing pics of the bi xenon though i dont know if you'll be able to fit them without cutting them.

The rubber dust cover that goes on the back of the headlight housing. Not the shield on the bulb, LOL

You don't have to make anything bigger. I did it all with no trouble. Lets make sure I am on the same page. You can't get the black rubber dust cover on after you install the new headlight.

I pulled mine apart then placed it through the rubber then locked it back to gether. Had to work it to get the little wire retainer to hold the bulb in, as the rubber is in the way.

It is hard to see, Sorry
In this pic I am pointing at the arrow indicating that the 2 pieces are locked
    DSC02557_248f24f20d36e402deba99054a5eb716968d7729.jpg

Here I am pointing showing that I have turned the top piece to the unlocked position
    DSC02558_8de1d3f7adc71c4a1e73d1ce6e24b0de54abc951.jpg

    Now pull them apart
    DSC02559_ae5245dbb5c773f6101e9468ff4c88666b644b9d.jpg

Here is where you place the bulb through the rubber dust cover then lock it into place and install it into the truck. You will have some minor difficulty getting the retainer to lock but it will you just have to play with it. For your passenger side I recommend removing the wiper fluid bottle. Hope this helps. If not give me more detail on what trouble you are having.

    Lucas.

LOL, I posted the pic before I saw your pics. I couldn't wait until tomorrow. I went out and tried it. I got the rubber cover on the shield then put the bulb back in the shield. I then flipped the rubber cover inside out so it would be out of the way while locking the retainer. Worked like a charm. I'll finish up the install tomorrow.

Did I mention tacomaworld rocks? Everyone comes back with actual help, and fast. After spending some time on fullsizechevy I really appreciate you guys.

I got them all installed and they seem to work alright, but the high beam light on the dash doesn't work now. Is this normal or do I have something wrong? The high beams are functioning just no dash light.
