This is interesting. The break down of top 4 conference champs over the last several years. If they do decide on a 4 team play off based on conference champs this is how it would have looked.

Thoughts on chief Osceola moving to the BigXII?

The ACC would either fall apart or try to replace. It would make the Big 12 stronger.

I agree that FSU would be a VERY strong addition to the big XII and it would atleast add someone else on the east coast besides us and make for a natural rivalry since we get all of our best talent out of Florida

2011 is the reason they shouldn't just take the top four conference champs. The #10 team getting in over the #2? A lower-ranked team from Pac 12 getting in over the higher-ranked team? (Though, Oregon did beat the dog out of Stanford, so I don't have too big a problem w/ that.)

It should be the top four teams, period.

I didn't realize that the SEC team had been the lower ranked team in 3 of the 5 years leading up to 2011 (when they were both the higher and lower ranked team).

People worried about the SEC dominating a "straight top four" layout can rest easy... The SEC would have had just 1 team in the system in 8 of the years since the start of the BCS (1998, '99, 2002, '03, '04, '07, '09, '10)... They weren't in the top four at all in three years (2000, '01, '05) and they had two teams in just three years (2006, '08, '11).

This might belong in the 2014 CFB thread, but since it doesn't exist yet... Looks like Alabama and West Virginia have agreed to play in the Chick fil a game in ATL to kick off the 2014 season.

The first line of this article made me laugh a little bit, b/c I'm an arrogant Bammer.

Yeah... Only the champs if not in the playoff. I imagine it would be rare for neither champ to be in the top 4.

This may actually be bigger deal than I thought. Im gonna have to look into it a little more. Could be the first step towards the super conferences being talked about the last couple of years.

Agreed but it's still better than the acc

WAs about to post that on here, so pumped. You'll destroy us tho since well lose about 20-25 starters after this year

This reaffirms even more that we did the right thing moving. The big 12 and sec are the only conferences who have made moves that have really strengthened their position in CFB, and I'm so happy we got out of the big least and into one. However I do wish the sec would've taken us over Missouri cuz I feel like we would've fit in great geographically and culturally in the sec east and our rivalry with Kentucky in basketball would've gotten better since we'd play twice a year

The Small 12 held on and recovered from conference realignment better than I thought they would. They haven't won a national title in a few years but they've filled the top 25 and are the second best conference at the moment. If they get any bigger, they will fit every aspect of a super conference.

The SEC is the only superconference!
