Hockey Trash Talk & BS thread

They brought this up on Sports Centre today. If the Kings sweep and the Eastern series ends up going 6 or 7 games that will mean a huge lay off for the Kings. That could end up harming them, at least the first 1 or 2 games.

 

I fear the same thing, but we had I think 7 days off between this round and the previous and we have been doing alright so far. Only sign of rust was the goal Quicker let in from center ice. I hope the Rangers or Devils just win three right away though.

 

Honestly though I have seen the layoff affect teams in the past but something tells me that it won't with the Kings. They just seem to be playing that good.

I still dont think it was nearly as bad as he made it out to be.. and the reason is because when he falls he does the same movement, flails his arms, tries to make sure a glove goes flying, and spins in a circle. That's 100% the same thing he did against Shaw and King two games ago. I get it's a part of the game, and yeah Brown does do it too, I don't like it, you should know I hate embellishing even when it's done by the Kings, just think Tippett's gotta look at his own team's embellishments before he comments on the Kings.

Ya he did. But did you watch Smith after? First, getting hit in the head as a goalie with a goalie mask designed for impact to the face isn't the same as a player getting slammed into the boards without a visor or anything to really protect his face. The only real pain Smith should have felt from that was in his neck from whiplash, because if the hit to the mask was that hard he would have had a bent cage. If anything some ringing in his ear from that hit, but I really doubt much more than that. He stays on the ice for 5 or so minutes, not sure how long because they had to go to commercial break, but come on, you know it wasn't that bad to take that long to get back up and then once LeBarbara comes out he realizes its time for him to get better and he puts water on his hair and he's good.

He embellishes every time he gets hit. Again not saying Brownie doesn't but quite frankly not to the same extent imo

No it doesn't absorub everything, I've played goalie before, and although I was a kid, my coaches weren't and they would shoot rockets to my helmet. I had the cheapest helmet that was certified and i never felt anything. Yes a puck and a hit to the head are different but I just dont get how you guys don't see that he milks that along so much.
