If you're running a fiberglass cab then yes, but I disagree when it comes to a stock sheet metal cab truck. There's no reason that you should run 2" if you have extra metal from the factory serving as more protection.

No action shots since this truck needs to be revalved REALLY REALLY REALLY badly. Damn thing is never on the ground if there are more than 2 whoops in a row

hey for you guys with 4WD, can I get a picture of your tube bumpers going under or around the diff? I am looking at mine and the diff looks to be in the way for any tube to be on the driver side. I have clearance on the passenger side and the middle

does your bumper connect to the cross member anywhere? Not the one furthest forward but the second one back, past the diff. It looks like I may just have a tube going from the bumper to the back cross member on the left side and middle.

well I think I am going to do this. This was the best I could do on my lap top. Basically one on the passenger side under the first cross member and connect to the 2nd. The one on the drive side will go next to the inner side of the diff.

Here is another representation of how the tubes will come off the bumper..as you can see they wont be centered.....unless anyone has another idea
    Code:
    ----------------------
      | |
      | |
      \ /

I'll still have the skid plate going across the entire bottom. I'll just cut a little slit so the diff pops through a bit

i think thats going to be the only way you can do it unless you want to bend down around the diff which would look like shit

I wouldn't want to expose the differential. I'm going to complete the lower half of my tube bumper by the end of next weekend as well. I am recycling the base of my all pro skid and going from there.

Here's a few pictures of the upper bumper and new tire carrier.

It does suck how long the front ends on 4WD's look, especially compared to 2WD's with lift spindles, but that's the price you pay for four wheel drive. A raised skid would look better, but you'd pay for it the first time you connect with something solid.

it just comes down to what style offroading you do and what level of risk you are willing to take with your front diff.

My bumper is tied into the front crossmember then the plating connecting the remaining allpro to the bumper. The weak point is definitely the plate connecting the pieces and it has already started to get bent up but working with the fabricator this was what we came up with.

Id love to hear some better ideas though

You need to measure with the front end drooped out. You need down travel to have a smooth ride offroad. Don't forget straps stretch and will need periodic adjustment
