While I agree with you that MOAB is an awesome place to go, I like the idea of "going out nowhere" where you have to rely on each other, and what you bring. EVERYONE does MOAB. Have you seen any forum in the US that talks about how awesome their trip to Anchorage, Alaska was? Again, this is just a thought.

We can hit up MOAB on the way back!!. I am down. We would have to stop for like 10-15 minutes once I hit 3000 miles to change my oil... I am very picky about my oil changes... especially this truck!!! lol.
EDIT: Hopefully by then, I will have a better Taco to do this with and leave the '89 at the house... Then the family could come to... Unless it was just a guy's trip up there, then Jake would come!

There's a guy in a second gen that has them on here, can't seem to find the pic. Cool looking wheels, but they just look funny on a second gen for some reason.

Lol, yeah, well the problem is it would take a full 2 weeks and a day or two additional just to do the Alaska trip! Adding MOAB would mean 3 full weeks at a minimum. I'm not sure I can take that much time off. I can see us doing a MOAB trip, but Alaska is just such a long drive. We would be looking at close to 9000 miles round trip. I don't know if enough of us could take that much time off. Only option I could think of, which is cheating a little, is to pay to have our trucks shipped there, then fly in and do our trials, and drive back. That could be done in less than 2 weeks. Damned expensive though I bet.

I think it would be cheaper to drive though.... Unless they shipped them by train and we rode on the train... I just don't trust handing my truck to someone i don't know.... :notsure::pray:

Now on the other hand. Lets do the MOAB trip then. Maybe not take so long to plan it but lets do it! I would love to go out west where it's different terrain than what is here. I get tired of the same ol same ol mud! LOL. If we could find some rocks that a stock Taco could do then we could go there for a while BUT, paying for a park fee every time we wanna do a meet there would get kinda pricey, don't you think? IDK. Also, if we did a park, then I would like to camp there and spend the weekend and ride. How does that sound? I don't want to drive and spend half a day there and drive home. That doesn't give us enough time to even put a penny size dent in the park. :mudding:

Back to MOAB. Lets do it in the next summer or two! that would be an awesome trip! Take a camper and some tents out there and camp also. That would save ALOT of money for a hotel. My dad plans on having a decent size camper in the next year or two, so if he goes then he will definitely bring it!

Paul found this and posted in the mods/meets thread...

I was looking at this before I bought the one I have now and got to thinking.... I don't think my customers would like to see what they just bought me as a work truck! lol
EDIT: then again... can it be driven on the streets? IDK how dual transfer cases work so...

yeah it can. Buddy of mine has an 84 runner w/ 5.13's and dual cases. He drives his around town. Probably would suck on highway though.
