I made a heart shaped pond for my wife , about 7' diameter

We put in water lilies and some other plants and were thinking about putting in some fish

We live about 75' from the ocean so herons were a concern .

One day I saw this dog running across my neighbour's lawn toward our house , it passed our place , about the same time I realized it was an otter and not a dog it was already in the pond doing laps like an Orca at Sealand , he poked his head up about every second lap , then jumped out and continued on his way

" No fish " I said to my wife

I turn off the waterfall and hook the pump up to a inwater filter during the winter. I also pump air into the water and add a small heat disc to keep the oxygen level high and not let the pond freeze over. So far so good for the past 4 winters.


There really is not a lot of maintenance that needs to be done for the pond.

I'm going on day 4 and loving the job more every day. My new coworker is hot as hades but the biggest problem I'm seeing right now is that the parent's start drinking when the bar opens at 10 and leave me and my coworkers to tend to the children which doesn't work out for the best all the time. I had a guy get mad at me today because I made his son and daughter sit out for a while wrapped up in warm towels. Our pools are heated but the heater broke last night so the water was hitting around 60 degrees F or lower and they were becoming hypothermic. He said that I was ruining their vacation by making them sit out.
Edit: I should add that the sober/not as nearly drunk mother and my higher up's agreed with my decision to pull them out for a little while after hearing my reason for doing so.
