Thanks for posting this!! I was told by my dealership that I needed to have this done at 100K (I'm now at 135K), and it would take 8 hours at the dealership at around $1,000. Thanks for the post. You just saved an unemployed American at TON of $$$.

Good info! Thanks for posting it, Chris, and for resurrecting the old thread, tebalzer.

To confirm, this is applicable to TRD superchargers installed on 1st Gen Tacomas (i.e., grey AND black versions), or 1st Gen TRD superchargers (only grey versions)?

Thanks for your quote by Ben Franklin as well. Being a "9/11 Fact-or", I know that you speak the truth with that quote. I'm new to this forum, and appreciate any suggestions for my 2001 Double Cab Taco, with 135K on it. Thanks!

Should I do the change on level ground, or is it easier to get to the oil if the truck is facing upward or downward a hill? Would the oil run backward into the SC or forward, and "pool" in the SC making it easier to get to??

I want to get this right the 1st time. Thanks!

I'd imagine it would best if kept level.

Hate to revive a dead thread. Just did this after 160k miles and only about 2-3 oz came out. I tried syringing oil out for a good hour and after the first 2 or so ounces, nothing came out. I put the new oil in and it took every bit of it. Could that much oil have evaporated after 160k miles? I didn't see any signs of a leak

If you want the bearing to last, change the oil every 25,000 miles. Yes the bearing will go longer but just like your engine oil you can change it at 10,000 miles or at 3000 miles and it will still run. If your running a smaller pulley, more boost than you need to change it sooner because of added heat and higher supercharger rpms.
    You have 3 choices

    1) remove supercharger from engine takes 3 hours removing and replacing.
    2) you can just remove the supercharger snout while the supercharger is still on the engine
Just get a large zip lock bag to catch the old oil when you remove the snout bolts, takes an hour and a half remove and replace as you need to clean gasket areas with a razor.
    3) the 3rd way would be the choice to go, but you need to remove the snout
and have a butt screw installed in the snout. Once this is done an oil change
will take 5 minutes with a syringe from the top of the snout,
